Unknown Switch?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, isn't insomnia great!!!

I have 2 switches on the dash next to my steering wheel on the Right. I know one switch activates the luggage fan in the boot, but the other switch, I have no idea.

It has a dipped, full beam or fog light symbol, I cant quite decide. It also has a roman numeral I on the top, and a II on the bottom.

I still have the original yellow fog lights working in the light cluster up front, and the rear fog light has another switch somewhere else.

Does anyone have any idea's?

Cheers

Shaun

Headlight level?

On the M35's the headlights have 4 (or five??) setting for beam hight.

Perhaps this switch is yours?

Or maybe it is is engage/disengage your fog lights from your headlights (ie "I" is for headlights only, "II" is for headlights and foggies).

Thanks for the reply, i tried it with side lights, dipped lights, main beam and all the combinations in between, nothing happened. Someone did tell me before i purchased it, it might have had more spot lamps at the front.

yes the foglight switch IS on the stalk. that turns them on. the bottom switch switches between the top and bottom ones, as already explained by A31-RB20.

and luggage fan switch?? that sounds like fun lol

no really where is the fan??

Just to confirm the above...

This switch:

Controls the lights in the bar and the two on the bottom:

Turn fog lights on (switch on the indicator stalk) then use the fog light switch to go from top to bottom fog lights.

Thanks for the help guys, no wonder it wasn't doing anything, I don't have a light bar on the front of mine. Someone must have taken it off before I got it, I will look for some crimped back wires and put in some new ones.

Hours of irritation now over.

Here are a couple of pics of the luggage fan.

Yeah I have the same switch for fog lights and a switch for the "luggage fan" although mine isnt as neat as urs :mrt:

We put our Alaskan Malamute in the back with the cargo net up. The fan does make a difference. It actually sucks air not blows though.

Yeah ive never really looked at it that well to see if it can be done easily. I think its good in a way as it pulls the warm air away although with our dog I have to keep pulling the hair out of it!!
