Assuming the car in question has it's original gearbox, what year (and even month) did the swap from push to pull happen? Lots of info on the differences and how to swap but I can't find which year the pull started.

Thanks.

Slightly off topic, is either push or pull "better" than the other?

Looking as clutches from AP Racing this is what they had to say:

The pull type clutch can be up to 30% more efficient than the conventional push type clutch as well as being lighter and simpler in construction. The pull type clutch will remain far more consistent in load characteristics and feel during wear, due to an improved fulcrum arrangement and reduction in fulcrum wear.

That statement from AP is pretty clear. I know you can get uprated pivots for push setups. Presumably the stock pivot can be unreliable with the pressures provided by a heavy clutch.
