people do say that. and they also say you smash boxes far more easily with them as well.

but from my own experiance we run ebay short shifters in 1 tarmack rally car. rb20 box. one circuit car rb20 box and my drift car rb25 box. my box has had one in it for over 3 years and never had an issue.

its each to their own as always but i competed in a mates 32 recently and i kept missing gears as they felt all over the place mainly 2nd to 3rd.

i had one in my ae86 with a CA18 and distroyed the selector fork.. unsure if it was related or not but i havent run one since. i know plenty ppl who, like yourself, have used them with no issues and prefer them but ive learnt to work with mine and the throw with the long knob (lol) makes it feel better for me again.. just slots into a gear where i want it

haha the knob jokes come thick and fast when ppl peek into my car.

on a side note.. hitting up the SAU time attack day this thursday! RSR's on front and 265 ku's on back. disconnect rear sway bar and play with dampers and go for a decent lap time!

either way.. cant let HESLO beat me

SAU track day went awesome!

did a best lap of 1.18.08 which if you know mallala is a decent time. even more decent is the fact that i was running street tyres and a drift set up still lol. with slicks, alignment and better brakes i have no doubt it would dip into the 15's

then yesterday i went back out to Mallala for drift school.. did some teaching and some laps. distroyed my tyres in 4 laps LOL. Also Fast Fours came and did a photoshoot on the car so keep an eye out for it.

Just a question on your inline afm sensor.

What ecu are you running with that and do you think it would work ok on a streeter

simon is using a remapped stock ecu i belive. or a variant on that.

plenty of people run the afm in the ic piping usualy when a biger flowing ball bearing turbo is used as its suposed to stop stall and hunting issues.

i know dr drift used to remap stock ecus with them in it and i have seen cars running with power fcs with them in the ic piping.

time for an update... havent used SAU in soooo long and now that its working with the new format im liking it more hehe.

Yeah running a nistune ECU. the best shit for the money IMO. and yes the AFM in the pressure side of pipe works to stop stalling and reverbration issues and it works a treat.

at the end of the day you can even run a stock ECU with the afm moved... it still reads the same amount of air.

well the year is all but done and dusted.. car survived with NO mechnical failures. ended up winning a few drift events with it and placing well all round. Currently the SA champion for G1 so stoked about that :D

so the neo has lasted a full season. with 350+ rwkw.. and not a hint of blowby ;) next up is a overhaul of the fuel system and cooling system, then retuning for full e85 and see what more power it makes. for now here's some pics.

you would have to be happy with a mechanical hassel free year. anyone racing would.

the big question is thoe. if and i say if it pops do you open it up and rebuild or throw another wrecker engine in?

im going with the mindset that when not if it pops i'll throw in another neo motor haha. in fact i even just bought another complete engine package the other day. will be using the R34 gearbox in mine but not sure if i will keep the motor as a spare... common sense tells me that i should but i need the cash atm to finish other shit off.

pics kinda speak for themselves... car looks like ass and is pulled apart lol.

motor out to fix a whole heap of stuff... easier to remove to work on it. esp with no rad support now! have made it so its bolt on and removable.

now rocking a near new R34 gearbox.. should be awesome now! no need for a dog box here i dont drive like a knob :whistling:
