gday all just a quick question,

i have noticed for the last couple of weeks my gearbox in my 32 has been wineding and getting louder by the day.

gears seem to be selecting and changing as smooth as ever but was wondering if anyone has had this and would know how much life it would have left in it before she goes boom?

its a non turbo so she doest take too much of a beating.

thanks :(

What's "wineding" ? A shorthand for "wining & dining"?

I think you will find it is actually "whining". Are you sure it's not diff noise? Have you checked oil levels in the gearbox and the diff?

na defenatly not the diff, checked all oil levels all gewd,

yea it makes the noises when its in neutral but goes once the clutch is in and also makes noise as im driving.

thought it could be the thrust bearing but i have a friend mechanic and he said its most likely the gearbox as it doesnt make noise once the clutch is engaged.
