Well I am starting the saving process to make an order so that hopefully by year end I can have everything needed for my upgrade. Here is my base and what my plans are and let me know what you think of it.

Base:

ER34 RB25DET Neo - pretty much stock

NGK Iridiums BKR7EX-11 gapped to 0.8

HKS FMIC

Trust 13 row Oil Cooler

Two Core Radiator

Kakimoto 3.5" Exhaust

Blitz ECU

Blitz SSBC

Blitz Timer and Gauge

Trust Air Filter

Defi Boost, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, EGT

Plans:

HKS Bottom Mount Manifold - Actually Have this already

GT3076R 0.82A/R with four bolt turbin housing and V-band add-on

External Wastegate - Not sure what size to go with and also what alternative can I use instead of the HKS that will fit properly on the manifold? I am thinking like a Tial 40mm, your thoughts??

Spare head with the RB26DETT ITBs and Intake Manifold setup - Help eliminate the pipe running over and also a better look same time

Keeping the TCS

RB26DETT 700CC Injectors with HKS/Tomei/Sard Fuel Rail and Resistor pack

RB26 Cam Cover and Center Plate - Bling

Keeping VCT Solenoid

Oil Return from Head

Cosworth Headgasket

Tomei Restrictor and block off as well

ARP Headstuds

Clutch ?????

I really don't want to get in the block if I do get some extra cash and I get an entire spare engine I will get the collar attached to the snout, freshen up the block with bearings, ARP mains and ARP rod bolts also try to adapt the RB26 sump as well. Can I get your thoughts on the setup and also what clutch recommendation for a daily driver that will be at some points be in standstill traffic and on hills as well, not looking for something aggressive but able to handle 450HP. Also, what wastegate option? My management will be a toss up between the Vipec and the Power FC, the Power FC being so expensive now I may swing the Vipec way. Please no bashing on the management but on all other aspects feel free .

Well as can be seen, I already have the HKS low mount mani, can I get the 3071R T3 flanged and also externally gated? Really don't want to block off the flange and I already have it so wanna use it. Also do I have to worry about clearance issues with the ABS setup and also my engine mount?

high flow or 3071, id think the 3071 would have abit more kick, even though they have the same output rating, cheaper than a high flow

anyone know what parts need to be bought to fit 3071, oil/waterlines/dump/manifold

So sell the manifold.

What does it matter if you have it on there or not?

You can get a GT3071 in external gate form as it comes from the same turbine family as the GT3076.

I would stick with your original plan and go the GT3076 there is no need to wring the neck of the turbo to make your power target and you will have some headroom if you want with minimal penalty.

If you have a HKS cast manifold (divided) I would use it as it opens up the possibility of using a T3 flanged twin scroll turbine housing like ATPturbo.com sell. You are going to need to fabricate some exhaust and intake bits to make it fit anyway so it makes little difference if you change manifolds at the same time to a superior option (since you have it on hand).

IMO wrong turbo for 450hp as you stated.

Too big.

You want a 3071, and then you don't need external gates either, a lot simpler and will make the 250-260rwkw which is your 450hp

What u smokin bro?!?

Last time i checked 450hp was more like 335kw so the GT3076R should do it ....but with lots of boost!!!

Send Rhinorebel on this site a PM, he has the exact set up you mention, It is very responsive and makes solid power, im sure he can shed more light on his experiences with the set up and any potential problems (he had a few along the way)

Hey buddy. Call Jeff at Marine International Diesel (MIDI) in Ft Lauderdale florida (tell him justin sent you). He's a Precision Turbo dealer. He also runs around the carib/islands alot. I just bought a PT5557B for under 1k. It's rated at 550 odd hp, garret based, billet comp wheel, T3 flange, V band dump flange, external gate turbo... Great value!!! Jeff also has a MEAN R33GTR with a large Precision Turbo.... awsome!

You can always mod the manifold to fitt up the turbo and/or wastegate.

rwkw vs flywheel

not that ash needs help defending since what he wrote allows for drivetrain loss.

The ARP mains and head studs are pointless for your power goal. and the 26 sump has nothing of benefit to offer unless you are converting the car to 4wd.

what are you going to use the car for?

if you are going to track it hard and often, then go the restrictors, and arp bolts while you are in there anyway... but if its just a streeter that sees the occasional light hearted track day, then there is no need.

i'd go a 3071, and a set of cam gears and keep good response while not risking the stock internals too much

Just sent him a PM to see if he would respond. I thought the GT3076R would be better as 3071R will be at it's limits. The cams may come later on but for now that is what I am thinking of. The twinscroll was always an idea for some quicker spool as it is a twin scroll mani. Thanks for the inputs and keep it coming. Also what is a good street clutch for my application that is nice on the left leg?

nismo supercoppermix twin plate

if you are 100% doing the 26 top end then you'd be stupid not to do the restrictors, so ignore my post.... i kinda just skimmed over the first post...

good street clutch? Super copper mix is awesome but $$

Jim Berry, NPC or Direct Clutch will make to order (ie power level, type of motorsport, etc) and at very reasonable prices.
