How Wide Can Rims Go On An R33?

I'm looking at upgrading from my stock rims.

I'd like to get the back ones nice and thick for max grip, but i don't want tyres poking out the side of the car and yellow stickers, etc...

how wide is ok?

Legally I believe you can only go 1" wider over stock, so that would mean 8" rims, but you can fit up to 9" under there with the right offsets etc.

i have 8.5's they fit ok

You can go 1" wider than what the manufacturer has on the PCD (i think its called, little sticker in the glove box)

so that would mean up to 10" wide

9 inch wide rim with a suitable offset should be fine to fit a 255 tyre if your looking for max grip

I sold my old Racing Harts to a chick with a R33 gtst. Rears were 9" +38 with 265's on. Sat perfectly in line with guard, about 0.5mm of dish (if that, you could just see a tiny bit) sticking out if you peer over the top.

Correction - They are 8.5" fronts, 9.5" rears. Not sure on the offsets....

thats 3 years out of date

new law is if your car came with 16x7 you can go up to 1.3 times that size

ie 16 x 1.3 =20.8 so 20 inch diameter

7x 1.3 =9.1 so 9 inch width

thats the rules under NCOP11

I had 2 different sets of 9.5s on my 33, 9 is also good

8.5s for the front, all depends on the rims offset

legally front and rears must be the same but halftime pits dont even notice

i'mhappy with my 17x9's nice lightweight

going too big increases weight and actually slows you down
