I'm looking at different oils to use for my car,

need some recommendations, I'm looking at this one NULON

http://www.nulon.com.au/products/Full_Synt...sel_Engine_Oil/

thoughts?

Cheers

had my car car on the dyno the other day had to change my oil before it went on. the dude that did it told me that castrol gtx 530 is the best for em.

I have tried a multitude of oils in mine, although I only stick to grade 4 and 5 oils. I have found for the m35 a 10w40 is perfect, anything thinner and it runs a bit noisy and thicker it doesnt seem to rev as easy.

The VQ burns a bit of oil at cold start but it isnt past the rings or valve seals, it is the pcv breather on the plenum. It dribbles out of the pipe down the middle two runners and onto the valves just waiting for you to start the engine. It can be stopped by installing a pressurised catch can but then you will need to empty it of water and oil monthly.

I don't know why you get water in your catch can Scott. I certainly get some oil but never any water....

It used to be water, condensate out of the oil from the cold Melbourne winters, now I get ethanol evaporating out of the oil also.

Are you running the stock thermostat? I had to go back to it as the water and ethanol wouldnt evap at the low temps...

There you go, water wont evaporate very well at those temps, does your oil ever go milky under the oil cap? Mine used to with the low temp mishimoto, im sure it was the ethanol/water.

the Nismo was about 6 degrees warmer than the Mishimoto from memory.

No, never milky under the oil cap.
