somthing goes on with the exhaust mounting job lol

and the throttle cabel being held im by a friggn zip tie!

fuel pressure regulator hose is just dangling around.

in the side pic the rear bumper especialy doesnt match the rest of the cars paint fade.

the wheel arch plasic covers dont go the whole way down the front bar in 1 pic.

the inside carpet on the spare wheel doesnt match the backs of the seats.

I am certainly no expert (have been looking at buying one hence why I noticed this thread!) but here is a real one on 105.com.... the guages are in a different spot too, but that's not to mean that someone hasn't switched em over though????

I emailed the ebay ad requesting the VIN number to confirm that it is authentic.... :D

look at the autech 2 adds above it... :D whata fine beast that one is :D

i can asure u its genuine :( its also in my driveway :D

just for ur peice of mind that ones fake also... its on the forsale section here... its an rs4 converted to 260... the dudes on here, autech body was too rusted to comply so had to transplant his rs4...

great car im guessing but no good outside of wa.

Chortle chortle...

That's a car that I sent there for compliance... it belongs to a customer of mine who got it extremely cheaply (think auto RS Four price), so he wasn't overly fussed about the issues mentioned. It has higher kms and despite the mucking around under the bonnet, was still graded 4BB at auction.

Chassis number is WGNC34-104829.

Yeah thats it.

Why is it no good out of WA? Are you not allowed to do a transplant like this in other state's? Over here it went straight over as its considered a factory option, like putting a V8 into a V6 car. Interested to know in case anyone ask's.

" It has higher kms "

Odometer 68000km?? clocked back??

another quality Autech Stagea!!!! what a jk!

Edward Lee's Youtube link --->

Also the brakes are not brembos and also in mine there are no drink holders in the cen console. Highly doubt its an original Autech

Well you're highly wrong. If you'd read the thread, I've already given the chassis number for the car. Feel free to run it through FAST.

lol, I think it's what they call in the trade "dummy stock" :P And both the km reading and the year on the ad are incorrect.

lol well my guess is that they're trying to attract customers who would buy a 68,000km Autech for $27K, which would certainly get them a nice car if they were buying something from Japan.

In the case of this particular car, my customer got it a LOT cheaper than that (I won't discuss figures publicly, that's for him to decide if he wants to share what he paid). He knew what he was buying, that's the main thing.

    • Absolutely this. Yes, except not vacuum hose. Something oil/fuel safe is a better idea.
    • Like a Stagea, but not as cool! Hope you have enough garage space for this, or is something going to leave to make way for it?
    • The new project has arrived. I have wanted one of these for such a long time, well before that meathead Clarkson drove one in Africa. I really wanted an E34 but I have some medical issues that mean I *really* can't bump my head and the lack of airbags in the E34 made it just too big of a risk.  I don't know why I've always liked these older touring BMW's to be honest, but man I love this car. She's been pretty well maintained for her 243k's with what appears to be only a single oil leak at the oil filter housing gasket. It has a bunch of updates including later model bumper and headlights, 7 series billion-way adjustable seats and it came with a few spares and another set of wheels with legal tyres. I got a unregistered car permit from the RTA and drove it back from Canberra on Saturday.                   First cab off the rank is cleaning it up for blue slip. I dont know how picky they'll be but I figured I'd clean the headlights, fix the oil filter housing gasket, replace the speed sensors (throwing errors) and swap the OE wheels (the M Sport wheels have a big chunk out of one of the tyres.) I also need to replace all 6 gas struts - 2 for bonnet, 2 for hatch and 2 for hatch glass. The car tries to eat me whenever i open any of these. My plan for this car; Ultimately, this is a budget car. I can't afford to throw lots at it and its because I have another car that I got this, if something breaks its no big deal. I will just maintain and repair it really. But eventually I want to do a manual conversion. It actually looks pretty straight forward for E39's and the trickiest part will be sourcing the parts.  I do need to replace some suspension arms or bushes because wow, she's a floaty old girl. She's also fantastically slow. Like really, really slow. When pulling back out on to the freeway on Sat after a quick pull over I needed to wait until no cars were visible before going.  Oh, and the guy I bought it from had a gorgeous R31 GTS-X in the garage.
    • Do you have a picture? I assume it is a breather for gearbox oil as it expands, it should have a vacuum line run nice and high in the engine bay (R32 GTR has it on a top bellhousing bolt)
    • Hi all, I am putting an r33 gtst gearbox into a VL and have noticed what looks like a vacuum barb on the box (on top in the middle). Suspecting that it's a vacuum line but I'd like to double check, if someone could confirm the function of that would be great. Cheers in advance.
