hi guys, i want to know, how fast do turbo charger's normally spin? or more accurately, using RB20dett engine for example, whats max rpm the turbo can do before blowing up?

thanks

BB

why do u wanna know the rpm? it really depends on boost,,more boost = more revolutions+less turbo life. ive heard turbo's can do about 10,000 rpm, but dunno wat boost that is. i think the question u should b asking is how much boost can ur turbo take before blowing up. just do a search, theres lots of info about turbos and thier limits.

and ive never heard of an rb20dett

sorry that should be 26dett

pressure would be about 4psi

This example is a -9 Garrett turbo to suit GTR. If you look on the right side of the compressor map is the turbine RPM, so with a pressure ratio of 2.5 (approx 25psi) the turbine is spinning at approx 155,000rpm
