its been done so much. My mate wants my spare rb25 parts to do it at the moment. Its alright but there is one problem where the oil galleries clog up easily. They line up fine but the drift r31 has gone through 2 engines because of this. I am thinking about doing a huge right up and attaching what is already in one of the sticky's about how to get N\A performance. Have a look at it because it covers a lot about he rb25\30 conversion. Your going to have to study what parts to use because i know r31 conrods can not go over 6500rpm or the will crack....

To be honest i just did a 2.7L bore and hone  worked well with a full recondition.

More torque but I think it lowers the compression slightly? I'm not entirely sure.

Definitely more torque as N-DAWG has said. However use the pistons out of the RB25 and it lifts the compression to 10:1.

For my RB30DE I used the R33 RB25 head and kept the VCT. (you can use the R32 RB25 non vct head if you like. Its easier but the intake ports are slightly smaller so "may" not perform quite as well)

My R32 only had a RB20DE so the difference in grunt with the RB30DE is substanial.

And this is all on std R33 RB25 ECU, std cams, RB20DE exhaust, RB20DET throttle body and RB25 injectors. RB20DE fuel pump.

Only non factory part used is custom front facing plenum and air cleaner

No go fast bits at all so if you want to put more dosh into it there plenty more to be had before a turbo is required.
