yarly ;)

I'm thinking it's time for semi's on the street, t1r's are struggling, i'm guessing the ku36's are so cheap because there shit?

i use them. i love them. great tyre, havent let me down yet. sure theyre not in the same league as r888's, but for a 3rd of the price, what have you got to lose?

To all concerned,

Haven't been on here much for good reason ... I've been knocked off my feet for the last week with a nasty flu. I've got a few PMs to attend to, I am aware of. I'm improving and hope to get to your enquiries tonight. Thanks for your patience.

Dale, thanks for your PM reply. I'll call you today ... now I have my voice back!

The life of Dan (a blatant stolen method of posting from ruby)

Home builders took over 6months to put a slab down, government are not going to pay the full grant. Im standing to lose 10k, bomestead domes are claiming they are not liable for the shortfall and it is up to me to pay this difference, along with interest for the amount of time it has not been paid.

They also trying to get me to pay 1600 for a tree chopping I didnt authorise them to cut

Fun times, currently have a house in the ghetto complete waiting to be attacked n crap stolen off it that im liable for.

possible law suit to follow

hey i aint that broke,

legally id say they will be going down. its just the issue of how long it will take to sort that out and how long will this house sit empty in the slums.

the tree issue theres no way there getting anywhere with that, no invoice no pay, no authorisation no pay

:P

oh f**k did i lol! :D

ugh, that pic made me forget what i was gonna post. remembered now. :O

was having a chat to a friend of mine about an hour ago. shes been looking at buying a new car for a while now, her only criteria are it has to look good, and be pretty easy on fuel.

after she had a chat to her bf last night (hes one of those types that "knows everything" about cars, but barely knows how to take a wheel off) shes decided on an rx8. i tell while an rx8 does satisfy the looking good condition (lets face it, mazda rotory's have always been housed in very attractive cars), its no where near being easy on fuel.

her reply to this was her boyfriend said "nah, its only a 1.3 2 cylinder engine, it'll be great on fuel." and now despite my advice, shes convinced that the '8 will be good on fuel...

... so if anyones been thinking about buying an rx8, i might know one that'll be for going cheap soon. :(

it dosnt have cylinders, her argument is invalid. maybe her bf will suggest she get forged pistons in it?

however i think they look pretty decent :O

she should prob look at something like a toyota silycar, honda integra dc 5s are also nice, mx5's no?

Tell her that it is a 2 storke engine (Even though it doesn't have any strokes), so in effect it'll use twice the fuel that a regular 1.3 litre 4 stroke engine does. It's also why they are rated at 2.6 litres when compaired to piston egines and why they make so much power from 1.3 litres.

    • Update: Tunehouse looked into the problem and identified a wiring issue between the camera unit and the connector. They managed to get it working , but did warn me at some point it will stop working again. From their perspective it is unserviceable and will need replacement. They did some research and found that the new replacement camera would be Approx $1400 supply only (their fitting cost would be $190) . They did provide the part number (28442-JL05B) and a quick google of the part number shows that these are rather expensive brand new (seemingly no longer in manufacture) for the places that still have them in stock, with the used option potentially presenting  the same issue down the track at some unknown point. They are happy for me to supply the part so that they can fit it. Decisions, decisions... I can definitely recommend Tunehouse (thankyou Vee37!). Cost for the diagnosis was as quoted  ($190) , car was ready on time and communication was top notch. Their workshop is super clean and modern, and there was plenty of car candy parked out the front on the day I went.   Would definitely go back.
    • to fix the voltage drop issue I swapped out the old 150amp alternator which turns out is a brand known for having issues and replaced it with the black 180amp alternator beside it
    • For anyone interested, the Way Back Machine has that Japanese website archived with pictures, etc: https://web.archive.org/web/20051023225805fw_/http://www.a31cefiro.com/air_con.htm "Simply swapping the wiring of the harness will not allow it to function properly. For the outdoor air sensor and sunlight sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN1-11 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. For the indoor air sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN2-3 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. The connector PIN numbers listed here are the genuine A31 PIN numbers. To avoid incorrect wiring, check with a tester before wiring. Also, disconnect the wiring in a location close to the sensor. The disconnected harness side wiring will not be used, so be sure to insulate it." Wish someone sold a conversion harness to just plug-and-play a Kouki 180sx digital climate control into C33/A31. I'm decent with wiring but feeling kinda lazy about taking this on. Edit: Did some more digging and found a helpful Minkara blog post about the conversion as well: https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/1831116/car/1360568/2284209/note.aspx "After installation is complete or the battery is replaced, you need to go into self-diagnosis mode and set the internal air recirculation. The way to do it is to "hold OFF with the key on for more than 5 seconds, set the number to 5, then press 卍→C." ↑↑↑It probably won't make sense unless you actually try it (・∀・)." Lol wtf
