turns out 'collingrove hill climb' is sccsa speak for 'shit value for money'.

$90 for 4 runs up the hill.

i got a 5th because i told a little white lie to the official.

i dont think ill bother with collingrove again.

good thing i couldnt go then.....that is really bad value for money....i would rather do another sausa track day $265 you get awesome track time and enough cooling down time....loved it

would a decent sized motorcycle battery be enough to start an RB20?

struggling to find a car battery smal enough to fit in tray with cooler piping.

thoughts?

maybe something like this would fire it up but cranking amps aren't always the be all and end all, a battery needs to sustain the vehicle's amperage, depends on the current draw of an RB20......wouldn't bother ever using lights again I would imagine.

Non lead acid battery in boot is the way to go.

that being said, as far as i care, that $90 couldve been better spent on a 4 minute lap dance and a cold beer.

funny, a "full day" of motorsports, and i used more fuel idling in the paddock than i did on the course itself. pathetic.

bolted box thru floor, never got in the way. was then easier to chuck the isolator in it too. im not a fan of boot mounting batteries in 31s, especially with the fuel tank being in there. i know in other cars they do it, but theres nowhere good (aside from the spare wheel tub) to put it where you can bolt it down

Did they inform you of the likely number of runs you'd get for the day? I would have thought they'd give you some idea how many runs you'd get (like track days). I know the competitors who paid something like $190 on Saturday only got 6 runs.

I'm guessing too that the $90 included the $25 day licence?

Saturday was funny. Some guy in a 180B did his burnout at the warm up area in preparation for his first timed run, and all I smelt was clutch. Poor guy couldn't get up the first section to the first turn. Rolled down the high backwards and failed trying again. Surely, he must have known his clutch was gone before he entered on the day. And he blew $190 odd. At least you made it up the hill to the finish line 5 times for $90. :P

how much to get it rewired matty???

i kinda need it donr before may 8th lol

motorbike battery was a short term solution till i mount it in back seat

    • What blows me away, is watching some of the US guys, like Tony Angelo at Stay Tuned. LS1, buys a set of heads for $1200, drops a mild cam in, pulls all the electrics, drops a basic inlet manifold with a carb, MSD thing for spark, and roll it out to make 550hp.

    • I got the hazards working! Turned out it was disconnected! Indicator stock still isn’t working. I took the steering shroud off and there seems to be a third connection missing I see two small white connectors but they don’t fit the indicator switch unless they need a short lead to convert the connector type.     • All of your suspension bushes/bolts etc, should also only ever be tightened when the car is sitting with full weight too.   IE, jack it back up, shove a heap of stuff down so you can lower the wheels onto so the car is "on the ground" but you have room to get under it.   It's why when properly done, you should be able to remove the shock and spring, but the arms won't go to 100% droop. If you don't do the above, you'll destroy your bushes.
