really depends on tyre size and camber mate, mine i was running 18x9.5 +12s all around with my LMGT4s and i used a 5mm spacer on the front to get them sitting a bit more flush. thats even with -2.5 camber on the front and -1.0 on the rear

tyres was 225/40 front and 235/40 rear

for those that havent already seen it, i've posted a thread about gathering numbers for a track day early 2010.

also:

is there anyone that knows of a RB26 being stripped in SA?

I'm DESPERATELY trying to find some breather hoses and PCV-valve for mine!!!

I refuse to wait >2 weeks for new ones from Nissan

heeeeelp!

other wheel fetish oriented lads

You rang?

Seriously for what you want, an 18 x 9 +30 would be perfect. Contrary to Dave's idea, the actual track will not change, as offset is a measure of the distance between the mounting face and the centerline of the wheel.

ie In both the 16 x 8 +30 and the 18 x 9 +30 cases, the mounting face is 30mm outwards from the centre of the wheel (where the measurement of track is taken from). There is just an extra half inch of wheel width either side (like you have mentioned).

As for tyre width, the 17 x 9 wheels I bought for my Chaser had 255s when I got them, and they were a perfect fit for the conservative look. No stretch, but no gumby looking tyre bulge either.

The correct tyre profile can be obtained from one of the many tyre calculators found on the net, by matching rolling diameter as close as possible to stock.

im gonna blame lack of sleep on any and all f**k ups i make.

... already used that about 4 times this morning. ugh. stupid early starts.

Saw Paranormal Activity last night.

Such an epic movie. THey made it on a $15k budget, and did so f**king well.

I think it made $108 million in Southern California alone or something like that

fook, thats a pretty solid effort.

wasnt a tessa but fairly embarrasing i must say

theres an example of 1 of the 348s prior to crash

still an italian built cockbox...eitherway. I wouldnt own one !!! after my not so impressive month of driving one !!!! even the F40,50 etc doesnt impress me

sure pretty fast but they build them like crap , pull off a few panels on one sometime,,, its full of contact glue, fit and finish is 1000% better on a lexus

cane them and they cost a fortune to repair, do that same in a jap car it still starts the next day..lol

2f2f "smoke em"

Nigal what does the pcv valve look like? I've got parts leaving japan soon and could have a look on thr auctions tonight for u.

screws/pushes into the rocker cover or inlet plenum depending on the car , the place the oil breather lines plugs into with the little rattle ball or slide of metal in it.

Well. Just got a little early xmas present from the mail man. Kakimoto Regu 06&R $876 delivered. Beautiful. Over $300 saving from JustJaps price delivered

i have the same exhaust. they sound and look soooooo good!!!

good choice Jarrad

    • I’m doing some side developments on SR20det S13 engines, its one my hobby cars used it to compare flow capacity of some smaller size wheels. SR20det is one of another JDM legendary engines I'm sure there are plenty of SR enthusiasts on this forum, I will share results some common turbo configurations here. a quick run down of what the car is: Wide body 180sx Type X with black top engine (blue). It has: Stock bottom end Haltech 1500 ECU 5-0 motorsports trigger kit Kelford SR20DET Beehive Spring with Titanium Retainers Kelford Cams SR20DET S13 188-B 268/272 Cams G25-660 Turbocharger in T2 .64 rear housing internally gated ARP Head studs MLS head gasket 1000CC ID injectors Walbro 450L Fuel pump Front mount cooler kit JJR’s 3 inches turbo back exhaust (its too short for the 180sx it had to be extended) Pump 98 fuel Hub Dyno tune So far made 270rwkws at 22psi full boost by 4500RPM. Engine is very knock limited hence a pretty bad looking top end. From previous experiences it seems like SR20dets are happier with bigger size turbine, some thing like a GT30 would make way better top end, but on same time response is lost. It won't be a problem with S15 VCT engines. I'll be testing alternative turbine housing, turbine wheel and possibly dump pipe options for extra flow to resolve the problem and of course E85 would resolve all the issues.
    • Awesome writeup and details. Thanks for sharing the story so far. I can relate to parts of it with my previous car and some of the issues I had to deal with.
    • Wow the colour matched hard top completely transforms the car. Are there any nice front lip options for the car or is that off the table?
    • Generally yes but for some reason I've been ruthless this time around!  I might even need to do another tip run after the way I've finally been able to hit the delete button on shit I've stepped over, stepped around and tripped over for the past 10 years!
