But i have my car atm so i would need a definite lift if people are keen to have a bbq. Cheers Rob

why do you need a lift if you have your car?

I would offer you a lift but you live too far away

I 2nd moving this to Events section, give some newer people a chance to attend cruises etc...unless we just want regulars? Edit my post where you see fit.

I'm there as long as there are drunk women and a photocopier... preferabbly both... ahhh much fun was had at previous chrstmas parties with drunk women n photocopiers...

someone go out get food put in there own money

people chip in whatever they want, last bbq at bmt it ranged from 5 to 10 to 20 moneys so whatever is payed can be given back to the person who bought the meat (unless they wanna donate) and then the rest towards the club either to the forums or in the treasurers pocket

I can bring copious amounts of chicken and chicken products (were talkin marinates, kebabs, chicken meatloaf etc etc) as my cuz works in a chicken shop and he gives em to me for free (my freezer is full of chcken)

OK - shall we get confirmations going on before we open it up to all?

Which day - Sat 20th, or Sun 21st?

I know Sat was originally discussed - but we tend to have more success getting people along on Sundays.

Is there a BBQ at Elwood beach carpark? Obviously parking is easy there - but we need to confirm cooking facilities. Other possible location is the Yarra next to Botanical Gardens. Again, ample parking and good BBQs.

I think - yes - for open invitation. Also - yes - for BYO, but we could easily do a pool of sausages/chicken etc and collect some donations on the day (like the pre MAS one at BMT).

Would be good to get all this confirmed by Thurs of this week so there is ample time for people to arrange themselves to be able to come along.

James

Sorry guys,

was moving house, no net for a few days

Yes, lets make it a public event. Yes there are BBQ's and plenty of parking at the beach at the spot that I'm thinking of (only problem is there are parking fees - $2/hour, $6 daily max)

I would prefer Saturday but I can swap my shift if Sunday is better for the majority... but frankly as we know theres no way of satisfying every1 so we just have to decide on a day

The BBQ is best left at BYO I think, particularly because we never know exact numbers etc. It should be a great day though.

I will post Melway Refs and a map ASAP.

-Max

    • Thanks for the replies guys, I'm new to the world of hybrids. It's definitely a lot cheaper to run than my old m35 stagea that's for sure but yeah well shy of the claimed figures so far, hoping the batteries not poked (although it came with a 3 year warranty for the hybrid battery as well). Wondering if it'll take another tank for the ecu to figure out the higher octane if it's been run on 91 for a bit?
    • welcome to SAU  sounds like you do have a bit of sorting out to do on the car, but it looks nice you can attach pics directly after you've made 10 posts.
    • yeah a coolant pressure test will tell you if you have a leak anywhere as it just pressurises the system. If it drops from where you set it, say 1 bar, you have a leak somewhere
    • Thanks heaps. So basically, bare block, very very similar. And cranks are the same
    • Hey guys, I have dipped my toes into the pool of skylines finally and figured I would get amongst the forums and make an introduction post! My name is Callum, I'm from the north side of Sydney, and I am now 6 months into owning my 1992 R32 GTS-T (already having half of that time off the road in true nissan fashion). It is originally an AH3 car but at some stage of its life it has been resprayed in and out in TH1 with (in the sellers words) extra purple, parked next to an actual TH1 car it is a fair bit lighter in colour. It has also had the original RB20 swapped out for an RB25DET NEO which I presume to be out of a Stagea going off the AWD sump that has been sealed up. I won't go super into detail with mods as I want to create a build thread post soon. Unfortunately the car seems to have had a hard life as many of these have being previously a cheap sub 10k car, and I have barely any history on it so if anyone happens to recognise the car or thinks they may have any history I would LOVE to hear it as I am a bit of a nerd when it comes to car history, the seller had it roughly since 2020 I believe and was from Parramatta area if that helps. Look forward to being a part of the community, I have been to 2 SAUNSW events already (one being in 2022 prior to ownership, and once more a few weekends ago) so you could say I am not brand new to it but can definitely be more involved via the forums! (side note: I am pretty new to forums and struggled to attach pictures of the car, is there an easier method than having to have the pictures on facebook and copying the link from there? would love to know for future reference cheers!)
