34 VSpec is back in Adelaide to a new owner. The Asian guy in Sydney sold it

The Asian owner did quite a bit of work on it with us and it has since moved on to a new owner

cheers mate for that. i think that guy is overseas now he still tells everyone he owns it coz no one here knows anything about GTRs.

the work done on it was great as i can see. cheers

Yeh last I heard he was commentating the V8 Supercars in China... haven't heard from him since...

where did you see the car?

yeah, he is still doin that in china plus working for a car magzine and some workshops. because the Chinese car modifying market is still at its very beginning stagte so the opportunity is huge. anyone who knows car can make a lot of money there.

i didnt see his car, its just all over the internet forums in china as the best car of the market. i asked because i didnt believe some things he claimed( he said his car was modded at CRD with GTR 700).

by the sound of it, hes just a rich bastard with a nice car, but hes famous now in china where most ppl have no ideas about cars. certainly his GTR helped him gettin the credit he needed to make money in this market.

    • Surprisingly the D6000 is only $1999, I'm waiting for the BF/CM sales, and hoping to get one cheaper. D4000 is well priced, still outperforms the 13" SVS PB-3000 and is like 1/2 the price at $1699 RRP. I do watch a fair amount of movies, and listen to EDM, jazz, symphonies, etc. so the lower notes from a subwoofer are always appreciated. The front 8" stage, just doesn't provide you with lively feeling, even though they are pretty bassy for a pair of large bookshelves. Then again, these days it's just playing Wiggles, Blippi and Ms Rachel, another reason the 3m wide cabinet exists, to hide all the audio gear behind it. They used to sit on a nice pair of stands, but as you know, they make good baby traps too.
    • Granted, which is a solid reason why I don't have one. My floorstanders are only -2 dB at 22 Hz.  So they're still working down to <20 Hz. Which is no doubt part of the reason why my receiver shits the bed! That Tonewinner would be about double the cost though, so it's not apples and apples. There aren't many AU$1300 subs (that you can buy prebuilt, I'm ignoring what can be achieved by DIYing) that compete.
    • -6dB at 22Hz isn't that great, watch the data from the D6000 from REW
    • I'll just leave this here. https://www.adelaidespeakers.com/subwoofers.html TL loading, big power. They sound awesome. This is what I would buy if I was going to try to take the bass away from my floorstanders. Just go with the 12".
    • I'll snap up some photos when I'm back home, in the office today meeting my "in the office" quota. Have 2x Teams calls scheduled in, office culture they reckon.   I've never owned a proper off the shelf sub, I've always made or modified broken ones with Jaycar plate amps and/or car subwoofer drivers. The current (and broken) subwoofer has a proper home driver in it, Dayton driver, thos one https://www.daytonaudio.com/product/118/rss265hf-4-10-reference-hf-subwoofer-4-ohm FS of 25Hz, which is low but not low enough. Yeah, I think they were brought out to the market to compete with SVS. I would love a SVS PB-3000 but they're not cheap, especially after their price hike. From reviews online, it does look like the Tonewinner D6000 would destroy and with good amount of money saved too.
