R34 Gtr - Bayside Blue, Number Plates "possum" - Hills District

Recommended Posts

Yeah ive just seen the older woman driving it around the hills as a daily. Does have abit of smoke around the back near the exhaust.

And black widow, which RB engine have you ever seen that doesn't run rich???? lol

Looks asif the daily driver GTR may infact have a secretive track life by the owners son, and if the Owner and the sun both have skylines, the father/husband would have definately have put them into the skyline seats first.

I smell a bit of a thrashed car (engine rebuild), but if the engine was done properly only a year ago it should be in decent shape atm.

Give it a check yourself, compression test if you think it warrents one, your gut instinct in buying used cars is usually your best friend.

HAHAH yeah alright fair call lol

^ It doesnt wear those plates anymore! haha

Anyway, checked out the car today, doesnt look like its the one for me.

However - if any of you guys have $55k ready to go, and another 10k handy to give it the love it will definately require over the next 6 - 12 months, its a great project car.

Anyway, cheers for all the info and direction with this one guys, time for me to keep searching!

Good luck with the search mate!

Todays GTR search experience.

Have just got off the phone about another GTR i saw myself crawling back to out of curiosity.

It is already in Sydney, previously had the number plates POSSM. 'Lady owner', after posting up on SAU and asking about its history - it appears that it was the husband and the sons which gave it quite a hard life and that explains why it is in the condition it is today. Husband and wife were not on talking terms, and from how she had advertised the car - she said that she didnt even want her husband to know where she lives.

Its had a full engine rebuild, seller originally told me a few months ago that it was because there were plans for the car to make it even quicker. It had a rick shaw racing sticker on the back, so i called rick shaw directly - and he told me that the engine was rebuilt because it spun the bottom end and needed a rebuild.

Car is rough as guts, inside and out and drove like complete shit, but at the recent 40k negotiable - i thought to myself, hey - maybe i'll give it a second chance.

However, i just got off another phone call with the seller, and she told me that her ex husband now has the car again. WTF? The same ex husband that she was afraid to know where she lived, the same ex husband that apparently thrashed the car. Whats going on here?

Worst case scenario - If they are not on good terms, and he knows that she's selling the car - its probably getting an ever harder time right now than it ever did before.

Walking away again.. but a real a shame to see what was once such a sexy car get thrashed in what is apparently the middle of a domestic dispute. Or is she even divorced and its just a sales tactic? hmmmm..

End of the day, price would have been dropped because its coming up for rego in feb - and theres no way it would pass in its current state.

May be a bit late. But this was the mum of one of the guys at my school i think. Used to see her driving through the school and seen her around my house a few times. Never saw her smashing it around though. Also, before the blue r34, she had a white r33 gtr with the same plates. Sorry if this is a bit late lol but just found this thread.

    • I would paint match the whole thing to avoid unwanted attention  I had a similar bonnet, paint matched, on my old R33 GTST, but mine was a fibreglass jobbie made by Blitz in QLD, they work extremely well for radiator efficiency and under bonnet temps
    • Does anyone run this kit with factory plenum? Does the adapter and bosch tb fit under factory strut brace? I wanted to get this setup before going forward facing manifold. Thanks
    • small update time, after always wanting a "cool" looking bonnet for my car and always struggling to find one for the series 2 that i liked and wasn't an insane amount of money. Saw one i liked on RHDjapan from D-speed in Japan the price was very good for a carbon bonnet so good infact i was a little unsure how much i trusted it, decided to bite the bullet and with the help of jesse streeter in not long at all it was at my door. Once it was delivered i ran in from work and quickly unboxed it and to my surprise the quality was actually pretty good i quickly removed the old bonnet and placed on the new one to test it out and even the fitment wasnt too bad at all. Then decided to paint the little grille in the bonnet black to stop it sticking out so much.   I decided to not mess around with the hood latch and just install some aero catch hood pins, having never installed them before did some YouTube university classes and i was good to go. fair to say it is not a fun job at all from making brackets so the pins sit nicely and actually cutting through the bonnet but also being very scared of cutting the holes too big it took wayyyy longer than i would like to admit but finally got it there. Then it was time for a quick test drive to ensure the latches actually worked and thankfully the bonnet looked very stable. I still think paint matching the bonnet and leaving just the part that sticks up as carbon would help make it all look alot neater as im not sure how i feel about all that carbon on a very fridge white car but will leave it as is and see how i feel with time.
    • I think it's bound to happen, you finally get it all perfect, and bam, something will happen. I took a while to get a Commodore rear quarter repaired where a P Plater clipped it. Two days after getting it back, Sarah wiped it out on a concrete pillar in an underground car park... This is why I take forever to repair them, it stretches how long until it gets bent again... 😛
    • Nah, not really responsible for that little fiasco, but I'm still pissed at myself for writing off my 86, or when I reversed my VX into a pole just before selling it, but, meh, 5hit happens to stuff, all it takes is a slight distraction, and life is full of distractions, and "dooh" moments
