It's through CAMS... basically protects the club & organisers of the cruise from any public liabilty. Or any other event for that matter.

Should someone from the general public organise a cruise/event (like DECA etc), if something went bad, liability would rest with them as organiser... and they wouldn't have insurance :banana:

So its as much to protect the club, as the club rep organising the event from claims that might arise as part of public liability.

10 years ago, probably irrelevant, but given todays day and age with regards to lawyers suing people for getting out of bed - good thing to have insurance :)

It is not like car insurance or whatever for you personally. That is for you to work out.
