At our last SAU NSW track day at OP it was mentioned that an interstate track day would be fun.....

the usual guys expressed interest in a weekend away to race the cars on a new track. well they are all new for me but you get the idea. So just putting it out there to see how many people would be keen on a track day at say QR for example. Leave thursday morning, get home monday. or something similar....Philip Island....

Would be good to cruize up with a dozen people as trip aways are always good and race somwhere different.

Hoping our interstate friends would be happy to have us also.

looking in the new year sometime.

In (of course).

Actually I'm heading down to vic for 3 events in 4 weeks (supercar support race@PI, national supersprint @PI and Mt Buller sprint).

So I'd be looking to qld next personally - maybe take a day or 3 off and do QLD raceway and Morgan Park.

Also need to get to Haunted Hills hillclimb (vic) and Mt cotton (qld) sometime too.

And the street sprints they run in qld eg Gatton.

And I still haven't been around sandown, winton, mallala, air, barbagello or hidden valley

Lots to do :)

Come to the Gold coast for the weekend of the 21 and 22nd of November, then do timeattack at qr on the 24th!

I'm interested in going south?

PI & Sandown?

Second that!

Mick, have you finished the rebuild yet?

I met you back in 08 @QR in my 34 gtr.

think you will back for Nov 24th?

I have been enjoying a r32 Gtr and Evo of late.

Hopefully we can have a run together soon.

Cheers

and where is willo? Kept thinking you guys would be up there..

i was thinking late jan, early feb.......we will have to look if there are any major motorsporting events on around then, as would not want to do it on same weekend as say F1 (superlap) dumb.

Ben from Qld, are you able to see how those dates might fit in for QR.....

Anywone from Vic who could do the same would be excellent.

Sorry aggroman, i cant wait 4 to 5 months......want trip away with beer cars and strippers sooner rather than latr.

With enough noticed, 4 to 5 months into next year ill definitely be going wherever, QLD or VIC.

Did this last year with Chubbs n Clapa! Awesome fun indeed, recommend everyone to give it a go! I would be there this year but we have our club season finale dinner on the 4th :)

Late Jan - early Feb is generally when it all starts up again here in QLD, but i doubt we'll have a calendar until about December. Expect mid 30s at QR at that time of year.

After hearing the local Sydney crowd complain about Eastern Creek being a boring horsepower track, I doubt QR will win any fans! lol The full National circuit is not really used for sprints either. Saturday Sprints only use the dead boring Sprint track. Wednesday Afternoon Sprints use Sprint and Clubman tracks, and there are far fewer cars. Clubman is a much better layout than Sprint. If you want to run on the National Circuit, Mountainrunner's TimeAttack days would be the only real chance other than untimed general practice.

Morgan Park is hard to get into events. Warwick & Districts Sporting Car Club who own the track, run the QLD Supersprint Series there, but you have to be registered for the series to get in. There are SFA other track days there. Best bet with SAU NSW being CAMS afiliated might be to hire the track & timing equipment for your own day. I'm sure a few QLDers would join in to make up numbers. I would for one.

You'd be mad to come up and not do Lakeside! There are noise restrictions though.

Yeah mate will definately check for you. As harry said there is nothing carved in stone for dates yet. Will definately keep an eye on things and let you know the calender for early next year soon.

cheers

The real test here is whether or not your car has had the steering put back together by a butcher. When the steering is centred (and we're not caring about the wheel too much here, we're talking about the front wheels, parallel, facing front) then you should have an absolutely even number of turns from centre to left lock and centre to right lock. If there is any difference at all then perhaps the thing has been put back together wrongly, either the steering wheel put on one spline (or more!) off, and the alignment bodged to straighteb the wheel, or the opposite where something silly was done underneath and the wheel put back on crooked to compensate. Nut there isn't actually much evidence that you have such a problem anyway. It is something you can easily measure and test for to find out though. My money is still on the HICAS CU not driving the PS solenoid with the proper PWM signal required to lighten the load at lower speed. If it were me, I would be putting either a multimeter or oscilloscope onto the solenoid terminals and taking it for a drive, looking for the voltage to change. The PWM signal is 0v, 12V, 0V, 12v with ...obviously...modulated pulse width. You should see that as an average voltage somewhere between 0V and 12V, and it should vary with speed. An handheld oscilloscope would be the better tool for this, because they are definitely good enough but there's no telling if any cheap shit multimeter that people have lying around are good enough. You can also directly interfere with the solenoid. If you wire up a little voltage divider with variable resistor on it, and hook the PS solenoid direct to 12V through that, you can manually adjust the voltage to the solenoid and you should be able to make it go ligheter and heavier. If you cannot, then the problem is either the solenoid itself dead, or your description of the steering being "tight" (which I have just been assuming you mean "heavy") could be that you have a mechanical problem in the steering and there is heaps of resistance to movement.
    • Little update  I have shimmed the solenoid on the rack today following Keep it Reets video on YouTube. However my steering is still tight. I have this showing on Nisscan, my steering angle sensor was the closest to 0 degrees (I could get it to 0 degrees by small little tweaks, but the angle was way off centre? I can't figure this out for the life of me. I get no faults through Nisscan.
    • The BES920 is like the Toyota Camrys of coffee machines. E61 group head is cool, however the time requirements for home use makes it less desirable. The Toyota Camry coffee machine runs twin boilers and also PID temp control, some say it produces coffees as good as an E61 group head machine.
    • And yes with a full tank it will hit limiter free revving or driving 6B6CDF6E-4094-426D-A9CB-6C553475FE36.mp4
    • One way of putting the fuel surge idea to rest, is that even when in neutral/clutch in or free revving it still has the same issue, it can’t even get to limiter (7800) so to me that says it can’t be g force, I’m not trying to argue I just want to find the f&$king issue 😡
