Hi guys,

I recently got hold of some 18" x 8.5 nismo lm gt4's offset +25 with 245/40 tyres. Put them on the car today, r32 gts-t, and the control arm sits on the wheel.

So my question is if I put say 225/40 or 235/35 tyres on would that be enough to clear the control arm? Maybe harder suspension as well?

Or did I just screw up and the offset and width are just not going to work?

Thanks for your help :D

225/40R18 should fit fine and they are the more correct size in terms of outer diameter for the car. They'll be narrower and smaller in diameter so they'll def be fine. If for some reason they don't, stick some 5mm slip-on spacers on too.

Yeah the fronts are 8.5 with +25 offset and rears 9.5 with +30 offset.

Thanks nisskid :P I think I'll try the 225/40's.

These are the only wheels I like and I was going to be so bummed if I had to get something else. They came with 245/40 on the front so I was planning on putting them on the rears. Im going to get some prices and if all goes to plan I'll make sure I put up a post in the wheels and offset sticky

I am suprised that the foul. I sometimes run 18x9 +22 with 235/45/18. Outside diameter is hardly any different and where the wheel sits on the inside would be similar coz 9" vs 8.5" and 3mm diff offset. Would only be about 1mm in it?

yeh i have to say i was a little bit surprised too, but remember with the UCA the fouling depends more on the tyre size and wheel offset, rather than the wheel size as it's not the wheel fouling, it's the tread on the tyre, which sits in the same place regardless of wheel width.

you should be able to get away with a 235/40 at +30 (will be bloody close tho), so a 245/40 at +25 must just be scrubbing.
