Bringing In An Engine From Overseas

Hi All,

Just few questions that id like to get sorted before going ahead an buying an engine from overseas.

Obviously the usual after paying for it and then getting it delivered.

What id like to know is.

Do I have to pay duty on it?

Do I need a broker to clear it at customs etc.

If anyone can help would be appreciated.

You will need to pay Duty and GSt for it as a LCL shipment.

Also Need a Broker to Clear it for you as well. Let me know if you are in VIC I have a good contact for you.

Be wary from Japan end with exporting engines via LCL cargo as their customs are questioning everything in regards of where the engine came from. I had this problem before.

thanks guys for replying, and im in sydney will contact a customs broker first before I buy this engine.
