No but because your moving it to a high mount position, you will have to change quite a few things.

1. Oil Line, Probably smarter to go with braided.

2. Water Lines, same again or you could cut the line and extend with hose (High qaulity coolant hose)

3. You would have to fabrication your dump pipe, either extend it or just buy a new one to suit what you need.

4. Extend Your Drain.

Theres a few more but you get the picture, for the stock turbo its not really worth it, each to there own though.

Good luck

Richard.

Can you please tell us why you are high mounting it? There is no benefit what so ever in doing it. If anything you will make it slightly laggier and im assuming you are using a cheap ebay spec stainless steel manifold which will crack.

So why not just hold off with doing it down the track? Whats the point of high mounting it now, spending a few hundred dollars trying to get it mounted (cooler piping, dump pipe, lines, gaskets, labour) losing performance, having it looking stupid and then spending more money down the track on the way you originally wanted?

But to answer your original question of course you don't need a "taller" bonnet, only time you would have an issue is with a massive truck turbo, a poorly designed custom manifold or a twin cam RB30.

Agreed - and then have to spend cash doing it ALL again because as soon as a larger turbo goes on, nothing will fit once again.

Yeah i should have clarified that, i didn't mean you would have clearance issues on a stock high mounted turbo on a RB30, i ment a truck turbo on a RB30 or a poorly designed manifold on a RB30.
