Aside from being told no free advertising on the forum are you XXX JAP IMPORTS PTY LTD as from memory the true business name was taken a long time ago and the web site japimports.com.au is Brad from the toy shop.

And as per the Fair Trading Link what licences to sell/import vehicles do you have as to many unlicenced dealers are using the forum to swindle people out of there money.

One last thing the guys in China have better vocabulary when posting for free advertising then you.

I didn't know there was no advertising im sorry for that and i know there is a similiar company name to ours plus there is no licence for importing to australia from fair trading it is a separate Licence form with each car and there is no limit of importing it is a on going as long as the GST is paid the importing of the vehicle is legal and im sorry if my typing isnt perfect i think you could understand what i was talking about.

If you do not believe me check the the website for Fair trading each vehicle needs a fee of $50.00 that covers the licence for import with a letter from the compliancer stating the vehicle can be complianced in australia so please stop hating and if it was just about advertising i'm sorry i did not know.

You still have to abide by the laws governing dealers even if the car is from overseas so if you Broker a car in most states you now need a sub category of that states dealers licence.

Motor vehicle consultant licence

Allows you to advise others about where they can purchase a particular vehicle. A motor vehicle consultant cannot be a party to the sale of any particular vehicle.

And as you can see below Brokering a car from Japan isn't excluded in NSW............

Exempted vehicles

You are not required to hold a licence under the Motor Dealers Act 1974 if your business is conducted only in relation to buying, selling or exchanging the following:

* cranes, hoists or conveyors, as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000

* motor vehicles or second-hand motor cycles (not including new motor cycles) that are incapable of being registered in NSW

* motor vehicles which comprise an excavator, road grader, road roller, bulldozer, fork lift truck or other equipment other than a tractor and which is not constructed on a chassis of a type normally used in the construction of a motor lorry

* motor vehicles constructed or adapted for road construction or maintenance, including cleansing, sweeping or watering roads

* trailers that have a tare weight of 250 kg or less.

How much effort went into copying someone else's business name by putting XXX in front and have you mixed up Fair Trading with DOTARS...

You do not have the faintest idea what you are talking about to start with and who would listen to a Government Free Service like the Business Licence Information Service.

They just told you about import approvals and a copy of the VSB10 which is DOTARS who have nothing to do with the services you are offering.

As Fair Trading states "Motor vehicle consultant licence" Allows you to advise others about where they can purchase a particular vehicle.

How simple do you need it to be.

you still dont get it do you when an import comes in it is not under the company name you noob its under the customers there for there is no licence required because we are not trading the vehicle under the companies name when a vehicle is imported it is imported as private all we do is we are a third party that customers go through so we can contact our people in japan that import the cars are you with me there for all the customer needs is a letter of compliance with the application form and the all the rest of the GST and shipping plus the quarantine is dealt with do you get it now?

Ashur, no offence but you have some pretty big balls coming in here calling long-time member noobs.

DRIFTT is correct - for a NSW-based business to trade as an import broker, you must have the licence he has listed in the link, regardless of whose name the import paperwork is in.

It's very easy for anyone to start a import brokerage business, jump on a forum, pull a few auction sheets from USS Tokyo and advertise them as examples, and expect that somehow people are automatically going to trust you and buy cars through you. Unfortunately life doesn't work like that, either on internet forums or in real life.

all we do is we are a third party that customers go through so we can contact our people in japan that import the cars

Forget about import approvals and who's name they are in, my point is..... if you are paid for a service being "a third party acting to broker the sale of a motor vehicle" (even from overseas) under NSW Motor Vehicle Dealer licence requirements a "Motor vehicle consultant licence" is required.

As on there web site it says a Motor vehicle consultant licence is required if you advise others about where they can purchase a particular vehicle.

Read the NSW Motor Dealers Regulation 2004 then call the Dealers Board asking them about Brokering a Motor Vehicle in NSW and needing a licence or not.

you are incorrect cause i have imported vehicles for friends and family and i done exactly what i do you do not need a licence unless you import 4 or more vehicles under the companies name then you will require a licence as you said but i tell who ever wants to buy a car i state that i get it from a import company all i do is show them the vehicle and i know the guy if they do not trust me bad luck there alot of people out there youd rather give money to some one who you met and has an office rather then sending it over seas to some one you have never met do you get what i mean.

and btw if it makes you feel better the licence isnt difficult to gain all you need is a clean history have to be over 18 and show that you have sufficient funds to run a business if it makes you feel any better i will apply for my licence and scan it and email it just for you the way i have been doing it, it has been working out for me no dis respect to you im sorry if you think im incorrect but clearly you and me arnt agreeing on things cause you do not understand the way i do it anyways i just started my business so if i need a licence when it grows more or if i need to do bulk imports for dealer ships or other companies i will gladly apply for my licence. And if you think im ripping people off im moving into my new office in nsw i will personally give you business card and you can come in and sit down and have a chat with me and will prove to you what cars i have imported and i dont pull action pictures out of my ass i have connections with importers in japan brokers compliance and everything so dont think i do not know anything do i look like a dealer no if i can import 4 cars a year and make money out of them without a licence i will gladly do that so stop putting me down on. what ever you need i will send you or you can come in and meet me in my office.

No need to say anything this time except what you have posted is enough to show people with half a brain you don't know what you are doing, Kristian has more important things to do then reply and I have Stargate Universe to watch since that is more important then repeating myself to some half arse incorporated business operator.

Enjoy doing those Bulk orders for dealerships as well.

I've just had a look over your posts.

I've also perused your profile.

Casting your thank yous and pleasantries aside,

you've...

i) supplied no address

ii) been in business 1 year and you're changing address to a place still unknown

iii) supplied no age

iv) stated your web has not hit the ground

v) supplied no gender

vi) got no dealer's licence

vii) got no business cards

viii) furnished me with no land-line

ix) not got a fax number

but wait... WAIT...

What you do have is an e-mail address! And there's more... a mobile... oh no there isn't... my mistake...

That counts a lot in my book. Oh I'm so pleased.

That's all I need to develop trust, security and the makings of a long-lasting relationship...

...as long as a blown up balloon that's about to be pricked. pfffft

Tell me, was all of this part of your 'business plan'?

Or was it just one of those 2.30am 'brain-snaps?

    • Mate you saved be from dying in the Perth summer. AC wasn't changing direction and just going into diagnostics mode fixed it. You're a legend and I would shout you a beer if I could!
    • Unfortunately effort gone to waste, you will have substantial issues with how the manifold and wastegate have been integrated. You would be so much better off with a modified stock manifold like this: https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25detexgatedmanifold/   OR literally just getting a off the shelf Sinco or 6Boost manifold as myself and others have mentioned.
    • Yuck. But it's kinda the same principle, moving timing around to make car run bad but sound good.... I went for a more spirited tuning drive to iron out a few things. Car no longer stalls, and it loved to dip RPM low when you clutch in. After tuning this (and the 4-5 tables that HPTuners/LS1 OEM ECU wants for idle air correction) it's now behaving somewhat normal. All expected because there's a new TB, new Intake manifold and that new TB which is 102mm vs 78... has an entirely different IAC passage which is smaller because ????? Unfortunately at this point I went to make further fine tuning changes to avoid it flaring up, you know... _tuning_ the HPTuners dongle died. Well to be more accurate - The USB cable died in a fashion that anyone who has ever charged a phone will recognize. After the app demanding I resync it 50 or so times (which all 'succeeded' but all failed) the device does not want to sync and I've logged a ticket with support to see if it's fixable. US Support said it was a 'storage issue' but after removing the SD card inside it and formatting it/fixing it the issue does persist. Unfortunately usually the fix is "Turn in your old dongle and pay $700 for the upgraded one" it's cheaper because I get some free licence credits I unfortunately don't need. However I'm 10 minutes down the road from HP Tuners AUS/VCM so at least I won't need to post it, and logged a new ticket for support over here. Definitely drives different. My SOTP dyno believes it's probably making 310-320kw instead of the 280 before.  It scrambles for traction a little now whereas it previously different. It drives like a bigger cam car up top even though the cam is smaller, likely due to the cam not being advanced 6 degrees. The timing is deliberately low and the fuel is very rich so who knows if this will improve on the dyno. It may, imperceptably. Also funny is removing the pineapples definitely makes the car squat more and axle tramp less. So this behavior of having more top end, squatting more, and scrabbling for traction more makes me think = more power. But I could have just been sitting on the threshold of that kind of behavior before. Time will tell if my butt dyno is calibrated right. I need the exhaust leaks fixed before dyno tune for obvious AFR related reasons - I repositioned the pipes but I'm not confident it's fully sealed even if it is better. At least the car does drive around while I cannot tweak/tune it for now. And I have aircon again. medium success!
    • Don't use that manifold. Please don't use that manifold. Sunk cost fallacy is not worth the later pain. None of these will be relevant to the change that will come from the different turbo and manifold. As in, the effect of the exhaust will be nil, regardless of what else is changed. And all the cam and fuel system stuff is not changing either way, so has no effect. The turbo and manifold (and to a small extent the wastegate)....big change.
