Morning all,

in the past few days i have noticed when in 3rd gear driving along normally, slowly increasing speed, the revs would drop by about 300rpm (ie: would just hit 4000rpm, then the car would drop to 3700rpm and have a hard time going back up)

Sorry i cant be more descriptive :)

any ideas?

also, the car is a auto, when im in tiptronic and shift to 3rd, it seems to take ages to actually disengage 2nd and engage 3rd, and when it does shift, it is quite rough.

again, any ideas??

Thanks a bunch!

I'd be thinking along the lines of the shift solenoids making rough changes...but the uresponsive changing could also be the electronic lock-up torque converter that the M-ATx box has. Normally it's completely disengaged when you're running tiptronic mode (you can see that on the highway going from D to 4, the revs will increase slightly)

I'd run a diagnostic of both the ECU and the transmission ECU and see if any codes are stored.

In 3rd gear lockup torque converter is not meant to engage.... :)

Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Ive lost my torque lock up at speeds over 80km.

will engage at lower speeds. but once i get above 80 it doesnt engage.

My de-acceleration seems to be a bit heavier as well. like theres more drag on the engine.
