Does anyone know of a nissan subframe that will bolt into the R32 rear end that is NON HICAS.

I've recently had the LH rear HICAS rod end start to get a lil wobbly and i dont really want to replace it with another if it is going to do the same thing.

I want to completely remove the HICAS subframe and replace the soddding thing.

Any suggestions?

You can do it without replacing the whole subframe.

The hicas subframe has holes already in it for toe arms, youll just want to make a bracket to sit on the other side...I did this and thought its easier than swapping the whole subframe over.

auto stagea and s13 silvia should bolt up and have no hicas. but they are not too different to a hicas one in how the toe is handled, and they may introduce issues with track width and other stuff bolting up.

swap the whole subframe, dont bother with lock bars if u need to go through any sort of full vehicle inspection as it is illegal.

S13/A31/R32 will all fit up directly (all have non-hicas models), R33/S14 will fit up with offset bushes (search yanack) and have improved suspension geometry and will improve rear traction.

the problem with going non-hicas subframe's is u lose toe adjustment unless u buy aftermarket items (which are often illegal anyway). my solution was using the standard HICAS arms with the non-hicas subframe

That is some awesome feedback and a few good options there. Thanks heaps for the replies!

Im not concerned about toe adjustment too much as thats something i can add in later if needed, at the moment its just a street car.

I think i'll swap it out for a non hicas in the very near future.

Thanks again guys!

OK off topic crap removed, and if it starts again there will be warnings/bannings handed out.

Dave to answer your question, have a search around the DIY/FAQ section, there is a long thread with pics on removing HICAS from a 32. It is much more involved than on the 33s but still worth it. Started by GTRGeoff from memory

Thankyou very much Duncan, i only asked for a quick answer not some rubbish childish opinoins about my rims which got this whole thread of track. I enjoy SAU tons and apologise for any unnecessary crap that i added. RESPECT :D .

Cheers,

Dave
