Hi guys, been reading a lot here online and wanted to know where to go from here...

Basically I've been aiming to get 300rwkw out of my R32 GTR, yet i still want it to look absolutley factory under the hood.

So far the list of engine mods are...

Factory Airbox with HKS panel filter

HDMI intercooler

Sard 700cc injectors

Walbro fuel pump

Rebuilt N1 Turbos with 13psi actuators

JJR coils

Apexi Power FC

Z32 AFMs

HDMI electronic boost controller

4in Fuji(whatever it is) exhaust

(I'm sure I'm forgeting something but its early morning and coffee hasn't kicked in yet...)

On 20psi it made 280rwkw

Tuned by Adam at JEM (awesome guy and great place)

Now i'm pretty happy with that, it feels like a bullet on the road, but with all those support mods why couldn't it crack 300?

What would be next on the list?

Dump pipes?

bite the bullet and get pods (which is the last thing i want to do really)

cams?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Cheers

Amph

What N1 turbos? R32/32/34?

For the record you would have been right with

Stock injectors

Stock intercooler

Stock AFM

And you will be right with

Stock cams

Stock airbox

Stock dumps

:)

I'm making 280rwkw @ ~15psi.

Stock AFM/Cams/Dumps/Injectors etc etc etc

Make sure you have a GOOD flowing panel filter to start.

But i suspect you have rebuilt R32 N1 turbos, if so - probably not going to make much more power to be honest.

I'm pretty sure they're 32 N1s ball bearing

Panel filter is new

Funilly enough i have seen it make 300kw with the airbox open and no filter (on a muich cooler day too)

The 280kw figure was all done yesterday in 35* heat...

So that might also have something to do with it...

I made 302rwkw at Ice Performance with a power FC, apexi avcr boost @ 19 psi, custom cam gears, nizmo front pipe and a 3" exhaust, everything else STOCK, I just had bigger turbos, I hope this helps.

Mods seems alright to me. Like what Nismoid mention, I had stock injectors, fuel pump, afms, dumps, intercooler, cams and airbox but only made 255awkw at 1.15bar which is around 16.5psi. Only mods I had were Catco Cat, HKS Front Pipe, Trust Exhaust, PFC and PFC Boost Controller Kit. And the original plan was to run close to 20psi but for some reason the boost keeps dropping at around 1.2bar (18psi) and can only hold at 1.15bar. If you can run 20psi, probably wouldnt be the same problem I'm having. Maybe its the turbo for your case?

i wouldnt worry about comparing runs, unless it was the same dyno at close to the same time (ie same time since last service and calibration) and same atmospheric condidtions there will be variations in what it reads

You have stock 32 GTR dumps? Throw them away they are RUBBISH!

It would have been really silly not to attend to those when you the turbos done...oh well.

Get a set of 33 or even better 34 dumps which are stainless. These units can flow to 380kw.

Yeah the 32 N1s were not the best turbos...BB or not they dont flow as good as the 33 or 34s.

300kw is a magical number that most of us want from the looks of it... hahaha. But I cant justify the money thats gonna be spent to gain that extra 50awkw.

Note to myself as well, when doing turbos, get dumps done as well. I got some HKS dumps only to find out they cost a bomb to install without significant gain for my application.

Stock dumps are definitely restrictive but are awkward to change in the car fer sure, can be done but if you pay someone to do it I would be giving em a carton too, its that bad!!!!

If you have further plans for turbo upgrades maybe consider waiting.

Surprised nobody mentioned it but adjustable cam gears an a bit of time spent setting em up really livens these things up even with stock cams may be worth a look?

and burnt fingers adjusting em!

I know 300kw is only a number but the cost of cams/cam gears and re-tune will prob outweigh the performance benifits...

Same with the dump pipes (should have done it when i done the turbos)

youve said it yourself, cold day and no intake restriction is 300

get some good pods and one power dyno run and youll get the 300
