My turbo timer died recently so i bought a 2nd hand one which has a slightly different wiring setup

Hopefully someone with experience will make sense of this...

In the Greddy TT manual it doesnt say what the grey wire[with the skinny metal plug]is for

I know that...

PURPLE wire is the speed signal wire-doesnt need to be connected

BROWN wire is for the handbrake sensor-can be connected or grounded

BLACK is the ground wire

My problem is that the grey wire from my handbrake already has a skinny metal plug on it

and was plugged into grey wire/plug on the old turbo timer

I was planning to splice the brown wire[on Greddy TT]into my grey handbrake sensor wire]

So if i connect the plugs for the hand brake sensor[grey wires]on the Greddy TT

what do i do with the brown wire???

ground it???

Seems to me the Greddy TT has 2 wires for the handbrake sensor???

The wiring diagram doesn't have any info regarding this either

dont worry about the grey wire on the new Greddy TT, just connect the brown wire on the new Greddy TT to the wire that goes to your handbrake, you said it was a grey wire. the grey wire on the Greddy TT from what i understand, is that it takes it one step further for auto cars and kills the timer if the auto is moved out of park.

hmm that looks like mine. pulled it of yonks ago as didnt like having a tt.

it was plugged into a matching socket under steering column then one earth wire from memory back to chassis.

dunno if grey wire was connected to anything. but if i pulled the handbrake lever the engine would turn off.

get it out of my spares bin/box tomorrow arvo and have a look / take a pic if it helps.

Here's the advice i got from an online seller...

" The grey wire is only used for the shift-lock feature on autos,

even then I don’t even know if it is useful "

If someone else can confirm this i'll go ahead & install it

Here's the pic of my timer.

Dug it out of the parts bin at home.

Grey wire was never connected to anything.

Brown wire, i cant remember if it was connected or not. If so it was connected to the handbrake sensor? or wire for the light in the dash.

The loom socket just plugs straight in to a socket/loom under the steering column.

Hope that helps.

Just looked on the Greddy website before finishing this post.

In the tech support section found these diagrams/manuals, this should sort you out:)

just had another scan through the manual (685.pdf), the grey wire connects to the shift lock unit.
