Map Sensor Busted

Hi, I've been having probs with my R34 GTR's MFD not diplaying boost. Finally found it it's a busted MAP sensor.

I have stock AFMs, but a PowerFC+ HC+ optional boost control unit. I really don't know enough about these things, but my impression was that I would only need to replace a faulty MAP sensor if I was running a D-jetro, so wouldn't need to in my case. Will this affect driving in any case? Oh, and how much does a MAP sensor usually cost?

I think you need MAP sensor for optional boost control add-on. Cost maybe $100~$150 just guessing (comparing to price of Apexi boost solenoid), as never purchased individually. You may be able to pick one up pre-loved? How is MAP sensor busted? Broken process connection or electrically stuffed/zapped? Dodgy plug/wiring?

the MFDs map sensor is completely different to the apexi boost control map sensor. There shouldn't be any issues other than the boost display not showing up correctly on the MFD

Seems the guys at the garage already put a new one in. Guess it was pretty annoying not knowing what boost pressure I'm running.
