Quick One - Motul Or Similar 10w40

Oh well, I thought it was always better to use a thicker oil in summer. Never heard that oils are too thick when cold.

in some cases yes, but you'd want a thicker hot viscosity, ideally cold still needs to be as thin as possible. so if you had a 0-40 in winter and wanted a thicker oil for winter a 0-50 would be ideal (dunno if you can even get 0-50).

put simply, first number is cold viscosity (thinner the better) and the second number is hot viscosity.

a 0w-40 oil is like a straight 0 (0w-0) oil when cold and like a straight 40 (40w-40) wen hot.

Thick Oils are not good for RB Oil Pumps and even worse for early short nose Cranks.

If you cant get any motul or either too expensive, why not try ELF? very good oil... i use it every service on my R33

Thick oil is good on diesel? maybe?

i have started to use castrol 5w 30 on my gtr just recently, is a very good oil, maintains oil pressure and temp quite well

i bought it for 40 buks at repco was on special, not bad for fully synthetic at all !

autopro in innaloo sells motul oil. They just opened not too long ago across innaloo shopping centre above the dick smith place. They also stock royal purple which i recommend
