Yep. Same license, same license number, same everything. Only difference is your license now has "License Class C, R" on it instead of just C.

Also, loose != lose.

if you have a valid drivers licence (unrestricted) and are over 25 don't you get a separate set of points for the bike licence part of it ? Or would I still have say 11 demerits on the bike licence if that's how many I have on the car licence ?

No.

It is the same licence, and same points. If you have a provisional rider licence and go over the provisional point limit, your rider licence will be suspended. You will still be able to drive a car if you have less than 12 points on your licence altogether..
