Pretty much :(

I think I suggested we stop, but unfortunately the lead car didn't have a CB so we kept on going :D

Ah that explains it... :( We were like ..hmmm.. rude b@stards

at the risk of sounding like an old fart, i'm incredibly impressed with how everyone drove the cruise.

putty road was made for skylines and super turbos (ok maybe the twisty bits not so much made for teh poor old neesan marches ;) ) but I think everyone managed to have a spirited but safe drive up to lunch.

so big thanks to all who participated for setting another good example of how SAU NSW encourages responsible but fun driving.

and a VERY big thanks to Sam for making Putty happen once again.

+ 1 Fankyoooooo Sammmeh ;)

Oh hi Gemma, its Augus here!
Bahahabahaha, you'd be pleased to know that my brain shut down just continued for the day. took wrong exit off F1 ooppss:) then proceeded to call mt boyf and friends all different sorts of names all night.

Ummmm, sun stroke???

Awesome day... great fun i only just got back to Wagga then :( long f'n drive... but ill do it again next time.

i cant believe you came up from wagga for a cruise!! Its a struggle for me to get down there to see the family:)

I had a blast yesterday, as per usual! Thanks to all in my group (group 2), who I believe all behaved themselves behind me (according to Matt aka MBS206, there were no problems with silly behaviour).

To the dude that came and asked me for an SAU cap during lunch, I went looking for you after I'd had my feed but couldn't find you. Could you please send me a PM and I will arrange to get one to you somehow.

From everyone who I could see (I usually had 10 cars in my sight out of ~16) there was no skids being ripped in corners, nothing stupid at all, and all sitting at/around the speed limit and just having a proper cruise, there was no attempts at racing on over taking lanes or anything (A few people shuffled spots, but that's okay)

Was a great day... And I had an AWESOME view... Really wish I had the camera setup, as the line that we had moving, looked spectacular when we hit the long straight sections!

Oh, and those GTRs... Damn sexy ass ends on them!!!

haha +1 that is committment A+++!

hope we didn't slow up the first group too much, the super march rubs tyres on hard lock so we had to take the "slow in, fast out" line a lot. Hopefully the pace was still OK through the twisties!

Agro....you reckon you had troubles staying ahead up hill...try it with 0.9l next time!

My grandson Jett loved seeing all the liners, not sure bout the cruising though,he slept all the way there and back lol. :(

lol pretty much like Kel (on the way home at least...on the way up she was calling the corners for me )

It was a great day. The drive was way to long though, my bad killed halfway so i just turned back. The black r32 gtr with the orange wheels was just sex on wheels!!!

by the way, halfway back down putty road i noticed a a black gtr was pulled over and changing his tyre(i think) what happened?

hi to the silver 33 i ended up following all the way into wollongong (sorry if i gave you a scare as i passed that 4wd towing a car on picton road)

I am so frigging glad I didn't bring my skyline!!!

I ended up doing 625 KMs round trip!!!

But awesome day, and meh... The Jazz loved it!

Oh, and Duncan, 6.25L/100KM fuel economy for that WHOLE trip! :(

950km round trip, 2.5 tanks of fuel a little over 1L of oil and lots of fun.

great cruise everyone was a blast.

nice to meet so many ppl and Terry thanks for the kind words, my car will definately be at the SNS, not quite sure on my condition though as its the day after my Xmas party

was an even better drive home though, had a great time on the freeway !!!

Gemma I was wondering why you were taking that exit lol

Hi Titan it was me in the silver R33 that you were following.

It seemed as though your car came on boost when you passed the 4WD because you filled my mirrors big time but it was all good. Thanks for the company on the run home to Wollongong from Sydney.

Does anyone know who was driving the GTR with plates AN-81-OW?

MBS206 ^^...Did you mean AN-80-WL?..If so that would be me.

You were behind me in the jazz..i couldnt believe how that kept pretty close to us all. :(

There may have been a little boost. i saw a left lane ends sign and didnt want to be stuck behind it untill the next overtaking lane, what i missed was that there was about 1km of overtaking lane left :(

I'm pretty pleased that the Event wasn't to-day!

The Putty Road is currently closed due to a fatality > RIP

It's happened at the southern end. Wet... wet... wet... Oil residue would be sitting on top of the water too with this downpour.

I only saw good responsible driving on Saturday BTW = good stuff.

    • Reasonably hard, although I haven't run it with the new Endless setup yet. The old brakes were F50's on 335mm rotors and the car did a 1:40.6 at Phillip Island which is a reasonable time, I'm seeing high 600s on the temperature paint. A guy I know ran the Endless fluid at WTAC without issues and he was doing 1:33's I think (Evo) with a 355/332 setup. I don't get out to the track as much as I'd like but we put the car on the hoist and spanner check every bolt and re-paint mark everything, bleed the brakes, change the fuel, check the coolant system and re-bleed blah blah blah before every event. Motorsport is expensive, RB's are expensive so a couple of hours before an event is time well spent. It's also a net time saving because if you can keep your RB from self destructing it saves you time in the long term!
    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    • I am using Motec M150.  I am not working on the car myself actually.  My workshop is giving all these info, they are quite reputable in the industry and are very familiar with Motec and RBs and have done a few big setups with VCam and single turbo on RBs.  In fact, they built and tuned my engine from day one.  But they are stumped with my engine at the moment and cannot work out how come the compression is so low with the VCam. They told me that they have now swapped in some Kelford cams (without the VCam) and can achieve around 130psi compression and the low end torque is better, but now the engine is doughy as.  It boosts and peaks at more than 1000rpm slower, with twin HKS GTIII RS, it doesn't get full boost until over 5000rpm. I have always thought the VCam was a bit disappointing at the low rpm. To a point I had to ride the clutch a fair bit to get up a small hill from stand still.  That was when I had a clutch.  Now changing to a 8HP, I don't have that luxury and this problem has become a major issue. I am beginning to think the VCam never work since the day it was installed.  Maybe it was just sitting at the most advanced point, that is why it went good at top end but very ordinary at the bottom.  Therefore, with the help of the Holinger 6 speed and paddle shift, as long as it was moving, it drove pretty good.
