Yeah but it's a Vauxhall...probably the most unglamorous car maker in the UK...a real boner killer.

Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar, BMW, Audi, Mercedes can all produce a V8 capable of 100's more horse power than crappy Falcoons and Commonwhores.

F1 cars are all now 700-780hp 2.4L V8's

you'd hope you got a bit more power for that sort of a price difference!

watch that video I posted, Austin martin db9 went around the track the same time as the maloo and the bathurst did it in the same time as a bmw M5

thats not something to just shrug off. More power and "better handling" didnt do them much good did it? you pretty much pay over 100 grand extra for a nice badge and cosmetics

put $100k into an R8 or similar and youre going to have a car that wont be beaten by much!

I'd take an XB GT over an aston martin db6, just like i'd take a walky-charged R8 over an aston martin.

else, i'd take aston, flog the f**k out of it, sell it, then buy lots of FT-86's when they come out.

I noticed that Car has one of those adjustable flap valve things on the exhaust to control the exhuast noise, isn't that a instant defect sticker if a cop pulls you over?

You can't compare F1 cars to road cars. Those motors rev to 18,000RPM andonly last 1000km's.

And just for the record, in the late 80's the F1 motors, especially the BMW motors, were a 1.5L 4cyl turbocharged running up to 60Psi boost pressure, and those motors were making over 1500hp....

My 323Ci has one of those flaps in the left exhaust pipe from factory? Easy to remove though...

Weren't they forced to cease production of the Monaro as the volume of exports was getting too high? I was under the impression that if they kept exporting then manufacturing of the Monaros would have had to shift to the US.
