Hey guys,

I was recommended two different sizes for my wheel. I have 9.5x18 Advan TCIIs on the front of my car and I was recommended both 225/40 AND 275/35 for the Kumho KU36.

Normally it wouldn't phase me and I'd trust either of their opinions, but 225 to 275 is quite extreme.

How exactly do you work out what is best?

Cheers,

Kieran.

Im looking into this myself. Have you test fitted the wheel? Because my fronts are 8.5x18's with 245/40's on now and the upper control arm sits on the wheel so Im getting 225/40's so they clear it. 9.5 will be wider so you'll have to watch out for clearance on the upper control arm and the guards.

Im putting 9.5x18's onto the rear and getting 245/40 tyres on. It will be a stretch fit so it clears the guards but will lessen the protection for the rims. The rims came with 275/40 and they kind of bulge over the rim but from what I can gather from what Ive read up 245/40 is an optimum size and 275 causes too much side wall flex.

Dont know if this helps but just a bit of info Ive found so far

here's the recommended fitments.

FWIW I ran 245/40 on 18*8.5 fronts and 275/35 on 18*9.5 rears on my Supra. I was going for track performance as much as possible from them. They sat nice and square on the rims. If you want the stretch look, that's a different thing, but this will give you an idea of how they looked on the rims
