ye.808
I just recently got a '93 r32 gts4 skyline and I got this part with the car (uninstalled). I was just wondering how to install it back on and if possible, if I can replace the BOV to a newer one or something? Can anyone tell me where to install this and tell me some newer style bov's that will be compatible with the setup. (At the moment i think it's a plumb back) Thanks peeps. blitz r33
i wouldn't bother for 2 reasons..... 1) cop magnet. 2) no performance value what so ever. nothing wrong with keeping the factory one on and you pretty much get the bov noise when you put a pod filter on but i would recommend a pod box and cold air induction if you go that way. Nic_A31
Throw that out mate. Its an unknown brand / make, its installed before the intercooler, and those return lines are clearly a 30 second job in the backyard. No wonder its not installed, the number of issues running that piece of f**ked up experiment...God only knows. Ideal setup: BOV installed on the crossover pipe, as close to the throttle body as possible, pulmbed back intothe induction pipe, as close to the turbo as possible. ye.808
Thanks for the reply. I'm getting the pod filter installed today at the mechanics. Also, the Blow off valve itself is HKS Sequential BOV should I just keep it incase? ye.808
How much should I sell it for? It's an HKS Sequential BOV mounted on the intercooler J pipe. Nic_A31
Dismount it from the J pipe...blow off valve's should be installed on crossover pipes. Will sell alot quicker without the pipe or hoses. And btw, can anyone post a pic showing me where the stock bov is on an rb20det and some good suggestions of aftermarket bov to buy with the single 'pshh' sound which will be compatible with the rb20det engine. im kinda new with skyline engines Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/293327-where-to-install-this-bov/#findComment-4905889 Share on other sites

cogs
Stock BOV is at the very top of the image in the middle. Can't miss it. Kind've looks like a duck wearing a trilby. Okay, maybe not, but it is bolted to a section of the crossover pipe (easy enough to remember as it is the intake pipe that crosses-over the engine). If your car had a BOV fitted to a section of intercooler piping the stock crossover pipe may have been replaced with a new section of pipe that doesnt have the fitting for the stock BOV or in place of the stock BOV they may have simply blocked it off with a piece of metal. Luckily both the crossover pipe and standard BOV should be easy to find and cheap to buy. If you insist on an aftermarket BOV, get one that has an rb20det adaptor so it will bolt straight on. Look in the classifieds section as there used to always be ppl selling as-new BOVs for cheap prices as many people get sick of them after a week or two and dump them for peanuts. Also, you can ask them if it makes a PSH noise like you desire or more of a wapachang which it appears you are not. ye.808
LOL! I just found out that the car was making stupid flutter sounds when i installed the pod filter... The reason was the stock BOV was 'blocked' off Now since i have the FMIC, Pod Filter, Turbo timer, Boost gauge already. Maybe I should buy a turbotech boost controller($30) and a turboback exhaust? Nic_A31
Unblock the BOV...that flutter sound is the turbo spinning up and slowly down repeatedly very quickly. Eventually you'll loose boost and find your turbo blades in your intercooler. Fix that first - other mods later. Better? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/293327-where-to-install-this-bov/#findComment-4918786 Share on other sites
