Ok, looking at the pics which the seller did send me as requested, i admit - it is partially my fault, i should have been able to pick out the lies just by this particular photo. The car is two completely different shades of blue and its very obvious in the picture, even more so in person. Even though it crossed my mind, i took the sellers word and this is where i failed.

Your 'friend' has already wasted enough of my time, money and energy so sorry to dissapoint you, but im not going to even bother writing anymore about it - even if you do happen to reply. A picture (even the one attached below) tells 1000 words.

And you're both off my Christmas card list.

I have also personally seen this car and shared the same frustration. The whole back has been resprayed for sure. If you look closely at the picture you can even see the orange peel texture in the reflection of the paint.....

Mind you, factory Nissan paint has peel as well, not as much as some euro cars I have seen but it's definitely there. But you're right, that peel around the fuel lid is too heavy for my liking. Personally I like it FLAT! I've cut my clearcoat back with a proper machine to make it as flat as I can get without overcutting. Cut it too much and it will go right through! lol

Hey all,

Lets focus on finding the good GTR's out there which are actually worth talking about! Forget about that one.

How about this - http://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan...e+gt-r/1351721/

Im loving the bronze 19' TE37's!

Cheers!

Well, now you've mentioned it.. sorry but i couldnt stop myself posting.

After a quick search through the forums and previous threads, judging by the contact phone number and name it looks like the muppet you speak of - 'r32gtrrocks' appears to infact be the seller just trying to throw another rock of confusion through the mysterious web of lies, not a friend.

Match it up with the car sales ad -

This guy just keeps getting sketchier by the minute!?

Im still trying to work out the state of mind during his original post? Maybe something along the lines of "Ill just get my fake friend to say thats its good because everybody knows he gives good advice and they should listen to him. Just like I should have listened to him when he told me to read the warning on the hair removal cream packaging where it recommends not using on sensitive areas." ;)

On a serious note - end of the day, i am documenting an experience here and im being truthful about it. Especially in that first post where i initially spoke about that particular car, I was especially light on details and purposely didnt post any extra pics or details. As much as I dont want to impact anybody selling their car (as i even originally stated in that post), I also do not agree with some sellers unnecessary manipulation of the truth + sales / pressure tactics, especially when they are used on myself as a form of persuasion. I am also not going to directly lie about a car because that wont benefit anybody. What will make me walk away from a car may be nothing to someone else and this may mean its the car for you. Take my words with a grain of salt or live by them while shopping around. Its obviously entirely up to you.

Anyway - hopefully we wont be inconvienced by that guys presence again. Knowing him, he'll probably come back with numerous photoshopped pics and then try to convince us that its okay. But hey, we cant blame him, he prob thinks he might get lucky again, I fell for it - and I flew to melbourne. If we are inconvienced, i encourage you all to just ignore him and just leave it up to the mods. I know i will, we've wasted enough time. Lets get back to searching for the respectable GTR's out there. :D

Yes, lets move on! ;)

Back on topic - Yes, It is out of my budget - but still great to admire. haha

Im guessing its a non vspec though, no rear diffuser or vspec II sticker, no carbon fibre bonnet - even though its a 2001 model.

Found this one while looking through my phone tonight, havent posted it so thought i would for completeness sake.

I went and saw it just before I sold my R33 GTR and missed out on it by around 2 weeks. At the time, i didnt know exactly when my car was going to sell and i didnt want to be stuck with two cars, 2 regos, 2 insurances - etc, and was also shopping around for a house (which i still am, and is just as difficult! anybody have a fat 2 story clarendon around the hills district they want to sell me? seriously!?) so i held off on buying it.

I know its a bit different to what im searching for today, but still - back then, when i first started looking - i guess it ticked all my boxes. Its a black vspec II, was literally mint apart from a small bit of paint patch work on the rear drivers side quarter that was already fixed - from memory, the seller advised that it just got a little knock coming off the boat. It was listed at $60,000 and still to date is probably the best R34 GTR i've seen up for sale. The owner was just as much (if not more) of a perfectionist as i am!

I've had black cars and silver cars before. I want something a bit more out there this time and thats why i've chosen to finally go with blue. And anybody that knows how fussy I am when it comes to my car would know that me and black cars have in the past - not gone well together, so its probably best that i missed out on this one, no matter how sexy i think black R34 GTR's are. I also like midnight purple, but just not in direct sunlight - it goes a different shade of green thats just not for me - personal preference.

Im still exploring whether there is a need to expand the budget and go for a vspec II. It would be nice to have, but in reality - i still think a standard vspec will be more than enough. It all just depends on whats available, price and most importantly - condition. Lets see what happens! ;)

Anyway, sorry for the poor quality pics! Anybody know the lucky new owner of this baby?

Hey, if you like the TE37 look, have you checked this one out -

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...4&silo=1011

Its pretty worked aswell, maybe pretty close to what you're after!? ;)

Hope this helps!

If you dont like MP II with the green tinge, have you ever seen an MP III? I was originally going to buy an MP II but when I saw it in the sunlight, I was put off by the green as well too. But the MP III is a different story! Problem with MP III is that only 180 cars were ever built in that colour, so it will be difficult to find, although there's a dealership on Parramatta Rd that has one but is asking 70k for theirs.

Have seen it in pictures, but havent been lucky enough to see it in the flesh as of yet. Sounds hot! Might have to go for another drive down Parramatta road in the new year :)

I am the seller of the car you guys are talking about. And yes that was my friend using my account in the earlier posts (I know you guys wouldn't believe it but it is true)

Regardless of what you guys think, I have dealt with Chris in a honest manner and answered all his questions readily despite his numerous calls. Chris made up his mind to come to Melbourne on his own accord. He would know that no lies were told and if he picked up something in the photos, he had the choice not to come to Melbourne.

I believe you guys think that my friend is trying to stand up for the car, he is actually trying to stand up for me. Reading through the posts, I am upset as well. Yes, it maybe true that my car has two shades of blue which I still struggle to see until now. Not everyone are experts on cars and in particular paintwork. When I bought the car, it was in mechanically excellent condition and no accident history. I may have failed to see the re-spray work because I and my mechanics are maybe not experts like you guys.

And can I just say that at my last conversation with Chris, I did not pressure Chris to buy my car but requested an explaination about the re-sprayed work he saw and why he wouldn't buy a car that has no accident history but just had reprayed panels. (People do repray their car when there are scratches). I was clearly upset too as I too had put in lots of time attending to Chris's requests and phone calls and would like an explaination. Chris has every right to not buy my car but for the amount of time I had put in, I thought he should have spent some time explaining to me why he rejected the car purely based on paintwork when he did not even test the mechanical condition of the car. Chris himself wasn't sure if my car had been in an accident or it was just a respray work.

In that photo Chris posted, the reason why there are two shades because there is a pillar infront of the back panel which blocked some light and gave it a darker look compared to the front door. Look guys, again, I am not an expert but I together with my friends had repeatedly struggle to see the two shades of blue. And the orange peel Chris was talking about, I tried comparing other cars under the same light settings (brand new or old), the "orange peel" would appear on all cars I have seen. Depending on the environment, it would sometimes not appear.

Chris could have listed my car having two shades of blue and I would have no problems with it as it is his rights. But saying that I have lied through my teeth to get him to Melbourne and became a arrogant c**t when I requested explaination about the paintwork is really unneccessary.

Chris - you are right, we should move on and good luck with your search for your GTR

Dan

It's a very fair call what you have written Dan. There are many resprays that are the result purely on scratches that a polishing machine cannot rectify, and not from accident damage. I myself have done it in the past as well to fix up the paintwork with a respray.

The most obvious way to tell if a car has had a rear hit is to look inside the boot. Remove all the trim and look at the beaver panels. There are 2 ways to rectify a damaged beaver panel. One is to repair the panel itself with panelbeating work and two is to replace the entire beaver panel itself. Unless you have the hands of da Vinci, you can tell quite easily that a beaver has been repaired. And even when a beaver has been completely replaced, you can tell by the seams. It's very hard to replicate the original seams. The colour, the consistency of the factory Nissan seal not many people can reproduce.

Here's my old GTR in the boot. This is how it should look untouched.

LOL LIKE ANYBODY WOULD BELIEVE YOU NOW.

Very funny explanation for the 2 tone blue feature you have going in that picture. If i was spending almost 50 grand on a car and it was interstate, i'd be making "numerous calls" to the seller aswell. Its what you do when your buying a car, especially when its not local so get used to it if you want to sell.

Dan

Stop act dumb and go away. You not fool any body this is my favourite thread on internet to read and you wrecking it with your poo.

I have just listened to the recording of our last conversation on my phone again to see if i did actually over react in my initial post.

Asking a potential buyer 'do you know how much of my time you have wasted' and stating that they have 'no proof that the car has been resprayed, prove it - get state roads to confirm it', jumping to conclusions, questioning the integrity of my interest and getting all huffy when i said i was also seeing other gtr's in Melbourne, all with an unnecessary raised tone of voice - is not the way to persuade any party into buying your car, especially after almost 7 hours on the move from 4:00am to come and see you, only to find a car which was far from as promised and described. It is bound to result in feedback such as what we see previously posted because yes, from what i've just heard again, our last conversation was full of both immaturity and arrogance - and quite frankly, yes - i still believe you were being a c*nt.

However, I trust you have learnt from this experience and will treat your future potential purchers differently if they decide not to go ahead with a purchase.

Nothing more needs to or will be said of this topic.

Now if you'll allow me to finish this post with the same words as our last phone call - "Im not listening to anymore of this. We're going to call it a day. I'm going to hang up now, thanks anyway for your time and good luck with the sale".
