Cold Air Intake - Making Custom

I'm thinking of making a CAI but not sure if the vent is too low on the lip, would this increase chances of more crap getting pushed to the pods? obviously it increases the chance of driving into puddles of water...

the reason im wanting to use this vent is that is has a duct that i could use...

any suggestions/opinions on this?

i reckon it should be ok mine isnt that much lower on the car but my front bar is only 1.5 inches from the road and i havnt seemed to have any problemos dude

That's for brake cooling, which you'll want to retain if you're doing track days.

yeh dont take that off for a cai, set up a cold air intake from behind the blinker, it will still get air into it.
