AFM can make lots more power then this. Running a 044 pump with 70psi base pressure?

Really, trent at status tuned mine to 110% and said he wasnt happy going that far, so your telling me that with an 044, standard afm, injectors, pfc and adjustable fpr i could safely get 270rwkw??

1. You can tune past the AFM. Always have been able too.

2. Fuel reg is aftermarket, so the power can be made on stock injectors.

It's just too high compared to the rest of the world for 16psi IMO.

Not saying it's safe to do either of the above either ;)

has been done before here in perth there was an r33 pushing high 400rwhp with stock r33 gts-t injectors + aftermarket fpr

but we all know what happen to that motor lol

thats insane power mate!

the gcg ones make more power than the hypergear ones but are less responsive, we regularly see 270rwkw from the gcg high flows but i definitely would not tune one stock injectors and AFM..... sketchy to say the least...

Why would the engine let go? If the tune is fine there shouldnt be a problem with it at that power level. Obviously it's not going to last forever, but it definetely isn't to let go any time soon due to 275rwkw. The injectors being old standard ones and failing is the main concern i would be having. Unless that is what you ment?

No, it would fail because the tuner is practically guessing after 220rwkw and anything can go wrong after that. Air temp changes, air density changes, boost spike, coolant temp increases and there's not enough safety window to cover it.

creat'd have to tune a lot of cars where people wont splash the cash on an AFM....

i was in there and they had a 360rwkw GTT on c16 with a stock afm....

the stock injectors can definately make that power with an FPR, been done many times, just not something i would want to ri$k with my car... same goes for stock afm

The Neo in my Stag is making 240awkw @ 12psi on stock injectors and stock fpr (pretty damn close to maxing out though). When I get around to putting the 550cc injectors in I'll see what it makes at 16-18psi.

i wouldn't say the tuner is guessing, (that siad im not a tuner). most of the things you mentioned should still be ok with a decent tune, its more when something else fails/goes wrong, and there is boost spike, or low voltage to fuel pump etc etc that there is less of a 'safety' window, but theorietically a tuner should be able to get it pretty close for most real world driving conditions, even pushing passed that tuning scope of the AFM (within reason, obviously aiming for like 1000hp is unrealistic)

what happens is the afm will hit 5.12v or whatever at say 5000rpm at 13psi, anywhere above this boost level the ecu will trace along the same line as it did @ 13psi so say at 17psi the ecu still thinks its running 13psi. To over come this you need to tune the 13psi line for 17psi therefore at 13psi you have the same timing and fuel values.... this means it is rich and retarded from say 12-16.5psi....

Are we 100% sure that it is a stock airflow metre though?

Drove the car myself and it pulls very hard & still remains responsive.

Dyno is not happy, it is a 2008 model Dyno and has been calibrated recently, seems every time someone makes big power that people find hard to believe then the dyno must be happy.

Bas made similar power with this exact turbo on Trent's dyno.

As Ash stated earlier Mat tuned past the stock AFM and bumped up fuel pressure, not the safest thing to do but injectors will be upgraded soon.

Mat is not guessing when he tunes, he tunes very well and has proved this with several other cars. We managed over 250kw on 17psi (GT3071r) with my SR, no cams and tune is fairly safe. I never get over 20 knock even at the track and my AFR's are spot on (full power, cruise, and idle), hopefully Mat will jump in soon if anyone has any other questions Mat?? :ninja:
