These are great, if you want an easy relatively cheap mod a chipped ECU is a good one.

there is a noticeable difference between the stock and MiNes computers. They are rare to make good use of the exchange rate and buy it!

Not sure if a NisTune board can go on one or not yet, but if it works you've pretty much got a fully unlocked ECU that'll work with your Auto.

you have to be careful wit these JDM ecu's, they are fine tuned to jap fuel which has a higher octane than what we have here in australia. you could find yourself getting some pre detonation(knock) running the same setup it was tuned for but on aussie fuel. personally i wouldn't touch any of those JDM chipped ecu's, there are better options available in australia.

p.s that ecu is a S1 ecu, year model 96-97, so its not a manual ecu.

hey Guys

bought a S2 33 a few months ago fitted with a mines ECU, I havn't noticed any detonation, BUT I have to use 'top shelf' fuels otherwize I get a bit of hesitation, missing, backfire, generally a very unhappy car

on the upside I can tell which local servos have real clean tanks

I have a mines in mine which is pretty much stock in every other way. I find that it pings on small throttle applications so I have to retard it enough to get around the small throttle pinging instead of under load. The better the fuel the less trouble I have.

Mines looks like it has set up a english email support on its website. I haven't given them the details on my one yet but I will.

I believe they set them up for your application when they are first purchased. So they are set up for turbo A, cam B, etc

My old R32GTR had a Mines ECU, and I always use to run top fuel AND a bottle of Martini's octane boost with every fill up.

I still use octane boost with every fill on the Stag, but its a much smaller tank, so I only use half a bottle :P

Can get quite pricey though ....

Mind you if you have an safc and and sitc (which I do :D ) you might be able to get enough correction to get a good tune out of it. But I think I'd still rather do what tangles did and get a toshi chip made up, install that and then use the above mentioned to fine tune it. Would probably be cheaper too. I believe he got a pretty good result that way.
