So right now my car is in pieces, i have my head out of the engine bay and practically every sensor in the engine bay is disconnected

Today i was trying to drain my gas tank so i thought i'd let the fuel pump do the work by priming it and let the fuel feed line go into a canister

so as i turned my iginition to ON, nothing happened... so i glanced over to my pfc and noticed the hand controller wasnt coming on

So what could be the cause of this? does it have a fail safe to not turn on if a specific sensor is disconnected? Could i have blown a fuse or something???

wierd thing is, this whole time, my battery wasnt even connected, so i really doubt it could be fried

someone please put my heart to rest!! i havent even gotten the chance to try it out yet!

How much power left in the battery? Most ECUs require at least about 7V before they will spring into life.

i'm not sure, i dont have a multimeter but i had it hooked up to my charger, and i'm currently charging it up.

it's a faily new optima redtop so it shouldnt be dead...

i'll try it again after a few hours of charging

Got any lights on the instrument panel when u turned the IGN on???

U can also check for horn, headlights etc. ....if not ur batt is dead.

all the lights come on, didnt check the horn etc though

BUT i just moved the battery to another car and it started right up

i also connected another battery to my car.... same thing, hand controller doesnt boot up...

man if this thing got somehow fried i'm going to blow up!!!

well common sense would prevail here, given you have pulled the whole car apart and all the sensors etc

it could be anything, check the basics, double check everything, trace everything, and use elimination

how on earth do you expect guys on a forum to help? if the car is in bits / sensors unplugged?

it could be one single wire causing it to not power on

well i just wanted to know if anyone knew for a fact that unplugged sensors would cause the pfc to not turn on
