Open Practice Vs Club Track Day

well im going to first track day with a friend who races and said he will show me around, but most of the talk on the forum is about club days no one really talks about open practice days ie the ones at winton. Is there much difference, ie how much time on track, or restrictions etc. any info will help to make future decisions cheers.

so at the practice days is it the same structure as a club day at winton would be? just wondering which is better value thanks
