I had the new Dunlop SP600's fitted today, got them from Taleb tyres who now also have the Bridgestones in stock and are getting the new Toyo semi slicks...(I am very keen for these).

Anyway The road noise is actually very good, certainly no worse than the brigestones (I actually think they are a bit quieter), I will let you know grip when I do a track day in about 2 weeks.

On a side note, I have two rear Bridgestones with about 50% tread that I do not need, it seems the fronts wear out much quicker than the rears (Even with the way I drive).

If anyone wants then for a couple of bucks they are all yours. PM me if keen. Whatever I get for them will be donated ...half to the Movember cause and the other half to the SAU site.

Cheers,

Gibbo

Very interested in Tyres as I have the Track settings on my R35 and will be replacing every 20 30 thousand k's I suspect (no Track Work)...

So the Tyres you got are for STD size rims...?

and I would also be interested in your Bridgestones......

Before you go spending up on the toyos I would send a pm to giant as he used a set of toyos on his r35 at this years super lap and according to him the car was around 1-2 seconds a lap slower on the toyos than it was on the dunlops. And he also stated that the toyos seemed to squirm around a lot due to a much softer side wall wich seems pretty consistant with my experiance with R888's on older model GTRs as they seem to have a side wall that is much to soft for the weight of a GTR as opposed to lets say an EVO on wich the R888's seem to work quite well.

i've seen toyo's used in 18" on an R35 and they just dont work as well, as say a 55. problem with the toyos is exactly as described above. the sidewall doesnt seem to be stiff enough and the whole thing compresses and squirms. I reckon the 20" dunlops will be quicker than the 888's or at least on par.

I am open to any offer on the two rear Bridgestones....They are in Sydney and would needed to be freighted down to you.

I would be happy with say $50 a tyre and you cover freight.

Interested if the freight is not over the top........Has anyone shipped tires from Sydney to Melbourne before.....?

  • 5 months later...

Can anyone advise whether I can replace the front tyres without replacing rears?

My front insides are worn out. There is a 1cm strip of "no tread" about 1cm from the inside edge. The middle to the outsides are still good. Not even down to the wear indicators yet. It seems such a waste to replace them.

However the rears are fine.

So I was thinking of replacing the fronts only with the same Bridgestones.

Will it trigger the TPMS warning or stuff up the 4wd mechanism?

Thank you in advance.
