hi guys, i had my a/c on in my r32 4 door and as soon as i turned the engine off and got out of the car, i noticed it was leaking coolant.

i popped the bonnet and it was leaking out of the top of the overflow tank, can anyone explain to me why its doing it? and possibly how to fix it...

any advice will be greatly appreciated

cheers

When you fill up the coolant resouvior tank, are you filling to the indicated max line when cold, or filling halfway (between min & max) or lower?

i bought the car on thursday, and checked the coolant level in the resivoir and it was on max

well like moodles2 basicaly said when the cars dead cold. check the water level on the overflow Reservoir should say something like cold or hot. fill it up to cold when the motors cold. that should get ur correct level if overfilling is the problem. is it a standard reservoir? see how u go

yeah its a standard resovoir, but it only leaks when the air conditioner is on, when the a/c is off there is no problem it doesnt overflow, i had the a/c on for about half an hour and the moment i turned the car off, thats when the coolant started pooring out of the top of the resovoir,

i will check the coolant level tommorow and make sure its on the correct level, but im pretty sure somethings happening with the a/c
