Just come across, the link to SEVS ruling for Stagea compliacing.

Now, it clearly says "Build Date from 10/2001 to CURRENT"

Does that mean we can bring in newer stageas with added mods, such as MP3 systems, and new LED clusters??????

I spent last 2 weeks in Moscow, and I've come across the newer 2004 - on models of Stageas. They seem to be improved in some things, plus its a fresher new look. It's be nice to start bringing them in! :(

Yes you can bring them in but no one to date has spent the money to get the engine passed the emission test. Until that is done we can only bring in the models upto 11/03 with the VQ25DET motor.

But this may change when some one decides to get the motor passed.

From what I've heard, it costs quite a bit to get it tested. It all sounds a bit unfair if one company has to put up their hard earned cash to get it done and then every other compliancer can just get a free ride after that...is that how it works? if so, I can understand why it hasn't happened yet.

The strange thing is that the same engine is by far nissan's most popular engine, used across at least 6 or 7 different models (maxima, 350z, murano, elgrand, stagea, skyline v35 and probably some i've missed). admittedly all of these have the engine tweaked/detuned etc to suit the application so emissions would vary between them.

Still, laws is laws...

It shouldn't be too much longer before the demand reaches a significant level to justify someone spending the $$ to get the new engined passed.

It is worth some one spending the money because the person who pays for the compliance owns the license and can sell it to other people who want to comply that vehicle. and yes, it cost a lot to pass the different tests to get vehicles up to 2007.

I believe that it is on the cards soon.
