Lol i forget exactly how they did it, but there was a lot of modification of the body involved. It doesn't count as an excel at all anymore, its more like one of those dirt rally cars lol

A friend at uni have one of those type of cars, he bought it for $6k.

It has a 4 door Proton sedan shell, but underneath all the performance bits & pieces are EVO things (engine, transmission, brakes, suspension etc etc).

That thing is a nice little sleeper, it can easily out-run my slug box R33 & gets no cop attention at all.

Makes me what to do a project Camry with Supra performance parts if I had the cash.

has anyone actually superchrged an excell ? i heard u can , f*k imagine the power to weitght ratio lol anyone know of a person to do it lol ?

I would have thought the original excel's engine would probably go boom! :)

What engine do they even have? 1.6?

yea something like that it just bolts on but yes i reckon i it would go boom haha lol

:

oh yea ,sorta like the one u can get for r31's gives ya around 80-100kw instant gain without f*king around with the ecm,

check out the 31 supercharging link though looks pretty cool :,( dunno how true this is has anyone u know have done it ?? )

Dude that sounds like an absolute load of crap to me. That much of a gain with no changes to the ECU? How the hell would it know to inject more fuel? You would need to upgrade injectors and everything, stock ECU probably couldn't handle everything it needed to even with a retune, i imagine you would need an aftermarket ECU with a tune, otherwise nothing would work

Yeah you got a point there. They should make some sort of metre that detects air flow in relation to the amount of fuel it needs, then it talks to the computer somehow via magical electronics and sends the right amount of fuel to the amount of air the engine gets. That'd be awesome.

It can't be cold air though. Else that's bad for the engine.

Lol yeh you would have to fix global warming first, then make sure that the temperature stays exactly the same everyday. Probs a little easier to just get an ECU lol

I'm not sure if you guys are joking or if you really don't know what a f**king air flow metre is...

So I'm going to back away from this thread.

Martin drives an N/A so go easy on him. :P

Lol i was joking mate haha.

But an air flow meter cant accommodate for the huge increase of air that would be getting sucked in if you got a supercharger. You can't just bolt a supercharger on and everything will just work itself out, things need to be updated. The stock computer and air flow meter are made for the stock air pressures, you cant just pump another 10psi in there and expect instant 100kw gains

Lol yeh they are very basic cars, made purely to get you from A to B, and depending on whether the thing is still there, back to A again

if it makes it back to A again , ive seen three in the last week on the side of the highway lol and a cresida
