Terra Trip 202 Wheel Probe..?

Hi all,

At the final stages of my R33 GTR Targa build and need to mount the wheel probe for the Terra Trip (202+). Going from the provided instructions it sounds as though they want it aimed at the back of the wheel studs which becomes a problem on the GTR due to the AWD hubs. Anyone mounted one to a GTR? Would it be possible to attach something to the tail shaft and mount the probe off that?

Any help would be great and i would love you forever and ever if you had pictures of where you mounted it and how you made the bracket

hmm not 100% sure for 33 (electric probe). The 32 has a direct fit part they call japanese gearbox sensor probe, it screws straight into the normal speedo cable.

have a look at the fitting at the rear of the gearbox, if it is threaded on the outside and has a splined drive on the gearbox end you can probably use the terratrip part.

ours runs off the gearbox probe. The Terratrip probe goes between the gearbox, and the speedo probe...iirc

sounds the same then....right hand probe in this pic

pretty sure it is, i'll have a look when the car comes back from the body works this week. it's either the gearbox probe, or a sensor on the tailshaft.

My GTS also runs that probe off the speedo drive, but we used a wheel probe on the 34 GTR, just made a bracket and aimed it at the back of the wheels studs as they suggest. Memory tells me we located the bracket of a brake line mounting bolt.

Sweet, sounds like the gearbox sensor is the easiest option! Although the odometer is not working at the moment but i think that's in the cluster

Just ordered one of them online so should get it running in time for testing on the touring stage of Buller.
