ok the motor is an rb25det s1.

my goals are 400hp and retain some form of response or realy not having a very lagy turbo.

the two turbos i have are:

Garrett GT3082r, .63 rear ext gate

HKS TO4S, .7# rear or and option to use a larger .8# rear ext gate.

now i know the Garrett is ball bearing with the smaller rear but i have read they suffer compressor surge??? and the HKS is old design and not ball bearing so i can expect it to not be as responsive as the Garrett.

i drift ALOT so i want a turbo that is going to be usefull to me.

What would you choose of the two.

Thanks, Steve.

Agreed.

400hp is what, 240rwkw-250rwkw give/take.

GT3082 - too big, will produce another 50rwkw in a sniff

HKS T04S - too old/laggy, same as 3082, more power

GT3076 - NOW you are talking a turbo fit for a task.

For more details on the 3076 - a simple search is all that's required.

discopotato & plenty of other users have posted more info than you'll understand :(
