Im thinking of buying a set of 18x8.5 volk TE37's for my series 2 C34 and i just want to see if i like them on a stagea before i get them cause its a lot of money and im pretty picky when it comes to rims.

So i guess im asking if anyone has any pics of a stagea with TE37's preferably series 2 but i guess any C34 would do, Can you help me out?

Thanks

Stu

18x9+20(might be +22) would fit better IMO... you can try my GTR rims on with a 10mm spacer if i can find it for guard clearance, and being x9+20/22 would make it GTR offset and more common to find and resell.

My 2c

Is your Stagea a RSfourS or auto converted?

If Rsfour S - you'll need at least +20 with 8.5', +15 with 9-9.5' rim to clear rear strut!

If auto - +30 offset all round

I run 18x9.5 +15 all round with good fitment/clearance on RS4S.

What he said.

The 8.5 will need a fairly wide offset to fill the gaurds on the rear of a manual plus for the te37 to look any good they need some dish on the spokes

The first pic of the silver car has no dish and the spokes are vertical. Does not look good

Second pic has a fair bit and looks good

I would try for some 18x9.5 +15 or +12

On my Rs4s I ran R34 GTR wheels which are 18 x 9 +30 and they fit fine.

ok. te37's

HOT wheels in the right specs but look farking terrible in the wrong ones

you need a decent width and low offset to get the concaved spokes

step up to 19's and you also get some slight dish (for lack of a better word)

but 18x9.5+12 all round will be nice, it will be aggressive but the only way i'd run them personally :P

if you are going to opt for a weak offset in 8.5's you may as well get the temp copy of the wheel. it will be a dickload cheaper. and i'm sure you won't notice the extra few kilograms in weight difference in stop start traffic

I have TE37's in 17 on mine, they are brilliant wheels and some of the lightest in the world, I was lucky enough to have them delivered with the car from Japan. However, as everyone has mentioned the offset needs to be right to get the awesome concave 'JDM' look that everyone loves. Unfortunately mine are low offset, i.e.: no concavity, and as much as I love the wheels it has always bothered me as they don't look aggressive enough on the car. Being 17's on a Stagea they also don't fill the huge wheel arches we all have enough.

If you look at the prices between wheels on any of the Jap import sites (Nengun, Perfect Run, Greenline etc.) the price difference between a no offset 17" and a high offset 18" wheel is around AUD$150 a wheel, so my advice would be get the offset and size perfect for your taste as the price difference is not shocking.

TE37's are hugely expensive comparatively to other wheels, so the other option if they become too expensive is ROTA Grids, massively popular in the US. Obviously not up to the quality standards of the TE37's, and not to my personal taste, but they are pretty much exact replicas (Visually) and can be delivered in 18 x 9.5 or 18 x 10 with huge offsets and 20mm to 35mm of dish for around US$1350 delivered, or just under AUD$1500.

My wheels were originally Bronze, but I am having them resprayed Satin Black as we speak to match the new exterior mods, I will post up pictures of both colourways when I get my car back... whenever that will be :P

harts.

please don't buy rota lol

Ha ha! I can assure you, as soon as it is ready you guys will know about it. It has been a looong process! I did find out that the wheels have been finished in the Satin Black and are back on the car. Car is now off stands and the rest of the bodywork has begun. As Chris said we are going to have a look at it next thursday, I'll take pics of the wheels.

Back on topic though (Or not)... I want to see more pics of broken Rotas! They are great ;) Epic Fail FTW!!

harts.

    • I have to put something here in order to post the photos. From what I could gather there's more enthusiasm for modified cars now than there has been for years. There were probably more younger people there than older (me included lol) which was a good sign.  It did seem like the record least amount of representation of the 90's era hero cars on display though. Like maybe one or two examples of S-chassis Nissans, and maybe 3 or 4 R-chassis. By comparison there were a lot of Civics from that era but in all there were about 10 - 12 EG/EK Civic Type R.  Euro exotics are always there in large numbers, led by Liberty Walk...... say what you will about kids using markers to scribble on a Ferrari F40, it did seem like a stunt to infuriate Ferrari enthusiasts, or Ferrari itself. I wonder if there's something more to it. Either way LBWK have done some heinous things to a Lamborghini Miura this time. They should stop now.
    • Engines and drivelines are not war stoppers for me mate, busted arse bodies and un-obtainium parts and panels are though Both cheap Brumbies I looked at had trashed tubs and a fair bit of rust
    • Stock O2 sensors are narrowband. They're useless once you're away from stoich. IE, useless for what you're trying to do. 10:1 will read the same as 14:1 from the stock O2 sensors. That is, they'll read rich. The same level of rich.
    • I agree once misfires happen it's basically worthless, but the hope is you can see what's happening in the run up to that.
    • You should totally get a Brumby, and then come pick up the Subaru Liberty GTB I have here. EJ25 Turbo, 6 speed manual from the sti (just no dccd), and the good rear diff. Drop all that into a Brumby and go have fun!
