OK, so it's my favorite time of the month - the day when I get paid for last month's work.

I've got some cash up my sleeve, and want some coilovers.

Since they're for street use, I want something street friendly, but with some adjustability for occasional track work until I sort out the other Ceffy project which will have said suspension and bullshit power.

My options are between Tein, HSD, 12kg Teins from a mate, or K-SPORTS.

I've looked around and found little reviews in the way of K-SPORTS, of the few I did find, I haven't read anything negative.

I'm interested in K-Sports since theyre alot cheaper and available to me at trade price, but before I go and poor a few grand out of the pocket, has anybody in WA used them? what're they like, good shit? bad shit?

I also understand K-SPORT sponsored Borneo + his Ceffy back when he was running that, and have adjustable camber, which is another couple of points I guess ?

I want coilovers - theyre a million times better than any cheap spring/shockie combo.

Has anybody used K-SPORT and have an opinion on them?

I'm already firm on decision to get coilovers, and can get them in Perth, for trade price. Just want to know if they're shit or not ?

I originally posted this in WA section just to stir up the hornet's next and get some shits and giggles out of those dumbasses but it got moved here :(

Am I reading right 12kg Teins wtf would you even consider them ? you may as well weld up youre existing shockys it'd be about the same ride result and shit loads cheaper--and this guy is a mate ? :(

So matched bilsteins and eibachs are seen as an "el-cheapo" package by you are they?

seconded.

12kg is pretty sturdy there nic, and with your back i wouldn't reccomend it.

but, i mean what's the problem even if he does want 12kg/cm springs?

doesn't look like anyone have opinions on them... best call wilkos and ask if they've ever had any fail, or if they've had anyone who've had any problems with them. naturally - being distributors they would be able to get the parts to repair should things go horribly wrong.

Springs are cheap, even if they have a flash brand name on them.

I can GET THOSE at trade price too, but coilovers are worth the extra bucks.

ends up similar price for bilstein/eibach once you add the coilover collars as the cheaper coilovers, still cheaper than monoflex from memory, and better quality. did you read the link?

anyone who doesnt pay trade price is a fool.

ask the same people who bought D2 and G4... I spent 10seconds doing a search- http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=4674246

Then if I wanted to search on D2 or G4 I would be met with a mountain of results, but I will leave that up too you.

Drop the attitude, If a "coilover" is so great, list me 10reasons on why a cheap coilover is superior?

Mate, D2s and G4s are shit, about as obvious as "oxygen is good for you", I didn't ask about D2 or G4 though did I?

Why don't you give me 10 good reasons why spring/absorber are "THE SHIT" - since you're an expert you can go first ?

If you don't have anything useful to add on the brand in question, go back to attending to yourself with your hand.

1 - they're cool

2 - they've got a wide range of dampening adjustment, which does actually work

3 - they've got adjustable ride height

4 - they've got adjustable camber tops

5 - they're good value for money

6 - the stockists will have availability for parts and ability to service them

7 - they don't require some juice-queen to adjust them for you

8 - they're easy to play with

9 - you don't have to live with the same severe stiffness all the time.

10 - they've been proven to work exceptionally well in drift.

Now that I think about it nic.. it's only like 300 more for teins right? if you find super-sports that haven't been changed by fulcrum, they'll be stiffer than normal super sports but softer than my super drifts.

Fully Sick super low springs, broooo.

Seriously - there are a billion more advantages to coilovers. Its not rocket science, unless you drive a R33 GTST or something.

Has any motherf**ker here actually bought K-SPORTS or not ?

You already have coilovers. The coil goes over the shock looky there we have a coilover. D2, G4 and K-Sport are all the same just rebranded and different colours. They are a cheap coil over that generally have harsh spring rates to make up for their poor dampening abilities.

For the money a Bilstein + spring combo would get you a much better result. There are hundreds of people on this website using Bilsteins in their cars including me and I am unable to fault them. Most people buy coil overs with all the adjustability bullshit and then just lower them as far as possible and stick em in never to be touched again. Not to mention that the adjustability that K-Sports offer is pretty poor anyway so what's the point?

1 - they're cool - No there not.

2 - they've got a wide range of dampening adjustment, which does actually work - no it doesn't.

3 - they've got adjustable ride height - Soo do Bilsteins.

4 - they've got adjustable camber tops - Buy camber tops for the bilsteins

5 - they're good value for money - Cost the same as Bilsteins with poorer performance.

6 - the stockists will have availability for parts and ability to service them - No different from Bilsteins

7 - they don't require some juice-queen to adjust them for you - If you don't know what your doing you will f**k this up.

8 - they're easy to play with - ?? I don't see how this is a positive. No different from any other coil over with adjustability.

9 - you don't have to live with the same severe stiffness all the time. - Yes you will. It will still be retardedly stiff.

10 - they've been proven to work exceptionally well in drift. - As opposed to Bilsteins which have a proven track record in every form of motorsport and feature on many exotic cars as standard.

Now that I think about it nic.. it's only like 300 more for teins right? if you find super-sports that haven't been changed by fulcrum, they'll be stiffer than normal super sports but softer than my super drifts.

Buy the Bilsteins much better value for money. Do a bit more research and find out what makes a good shock rather than ZOMG ITS GOT 11ty BILLION LEVELZ OF ADJUSTMENT AND ITS A PRETTY COLOUR!!!1!!!111!

Yeah but the fact that the flashy k-sport crap is adjustable is lost of 90% of people that just put the thing in the car at the height they want and forget about it. The other people that want some sort of adjustability wouldn't waste their time on them because they're crap.

I would also say get some decent sway bars as well as you would get more benefit from an adjustable sway bar than just some stupidly stiff coil overs.
