Alright, I have searched the forum about this topic. I have read the FAQ and many other threads, and looked at the motortraders link. I think *know* what the differences between the Series 1, 1.5 and 2. However, I haven't had much luck finding definitive photographs of the differences, except for the exterior. Or much of a discussion about if the later models were actually that much better.

Can anyone show me the differences (photos if possible)?

Esp interested in the:

- Interior trim

- Instrument cluster

- Engine (someone said different tps?)

- Dash, A/C, etc

- Diff so I can identify a S1 or 1.5 with LSD (Ignoring the special A-LSD models, too hard to find)

I'm in the process of searching for a 33 GTS25T, and I've been stumped by the Series 1.5's. It seem's that Nissan grabbed whichever part came to hand easiest during the transition so the S1.5's aren't consistent. Hence I'm trying to understand what I'm looking at. Will also be important for getting the right parts.

After all this, is it worth looking longer & paying more for a Series 2? The external appearance isn't really a factor for me. Is there any solid reason not to buy a S1 or S1.5?

I have heard of the FAST software, apparently it gives details of a specific car based on the vin? Can someone clarify, and does it cost much to get a car searched?

Cheers, have looked but don't know how far to trust the ebay ads, lol. I'll try to add information as I find it for other people to use..

I can now translate most model numbers (the GGKBRTFR33VDA----- style numbers on the plate) into the options on the car. If it had factory kit, ABS, sunroof, etc etc. May eventually put it all in a document people can use, just time consuming.. If anyone wants something converted give us a shout..

I have also found three different styles of stock steering wheel. I know there are S1.5's (aka 1995 models) runnning around with the late wheel, but this is as a general rule..

And, as it is related, this is the passenger side dash. In the S1/ S1.5's the airbag was optional. In the S2 it became a standard feature.

I apologise for the quality of the photos. If you have a better quality pic, please send it through :(

Thanks PM-R33 and HEKT1K, I appreciate the feedback. I think I'll probably end up with a S2 in the end.

The dash surround is also different. Around the hazard button, etc it is FLAT on the S1 or S1.5 and curved on the S2. Hard to show in the pics, but you get the idea. Note the S2 is normally black/dark grey and has been painted in the pic.

And for those that were wondering about the trim, they are shown below. The S1 trim is a lot like the late 32 trim. The majority of S1.5 cars I have seen (aka 1995) have got the late model trim. The coloured gearshift and handbrake boots are aftermarket.

S3 looks the same excluding the rear right hand reverse light is a light orange, its actually a fog light with a switch under the dash.

Internally the trim is red coloured on the streeing wheel and seats.

Try carpoint/carsales that's how I used to compare different models because there were enough examples :)
