at a safe bet id say you could count slapper in for some man on man action.

Wrong yet again........ married to a good looking blond (sorry, it's not a guy), how about yourself or are you still dating Mrs Palmer and her 5 daughters? If you honestly think attacking my sexual orientation is a sound basis to win an argument then you are actually dumber than I originally gave you credit (not that much credit was given in the IQ stakes in the first instance).

I see you replied 3 times.......ouch dude, I feel your pain. Now I fully appreciate the term "flamed", seems like I "flamed" you pretty good there hey boyo given I got 3 shit replies in such rapid succession. Normally one would expect to have to pay for this much fun but with you => it's free!

You remind me of one of those brain-dead individuals you occassionally see in a pub who picks a fight, for no reason, with a guerilla (usually a pro-boxer), gets the shit belt of of them and walks away telling everyone that they won the fight. It must be very, very blissful living in your state of mind. :D

PS Sorry I resorted to abusive ad-hominem (attacking the person) in this tit-for-tat debate it's just that this is the level where you can seem to mount any sort of agrument.

yeh god forbid one of us starts insulting the other..

No I didn't, but then again comprehension levels beyond year 5 are not your forte........
not too bbbright aaaare yaaas?
PS I think this saying was penned for you "Never argue with an Idiot, they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience".
Well feel free to call it what you want ....... my point was still made. I suppose to some extent I have now been enlightened in regard to at least one word in the repertoire of keyboard warrior terminology :)

Ha, I'll pay your comment about biomatter on second hand jewellery - one wonders where that line of reasoning stops....used sex toys??

BASHO - I can weigh a 17x8 Drift Tek but it will include the weight of a 235x45x17 RE55 if that is any help to you??

That'd be great if it's not to much hassle  . (I moved houses yesterday so I've a had a bit of downtime.)

FYI Scathing, most of the used JDM rims I've seen have been of impeccable quality, one would think that any organic matter would be cleaned off as a matter of course at Customs anyway.

I'd rather a quality used part than an el cheapo new one, but a new good quality one is always good :)

I have a set of 17 x 9 drift teks that I bought as 2nd rims. My panasport c5cr's are alot lighter. But for $500 the pair, Im not going to complain. On another note the polished lip now offered by koya look waaayyyyyy better.

FWIW I have seen a few of these rims have issues from factory, and have seen a few crack after impact...but hit them hard enough and most will suffer the same fate.

nb: weight determined by my bitch muscles putting on and taking off car, and in no way gives any indication of their actual weight.

Some of them are, especially if a trader has brought them in for commercial sale, but if people are just cruising Yahoo! Japan auctions for cheapies there are some really ratty ones out there.

The thing is, if the used JDM wheel has been resprayed it could be hiding a multitude of sins. My bent TE37 was resprayed, and you wouldn't know what they'd been through via casual inspection.

The "biomatter" comment was on whether I'd buy second hand jewelry for my missus, not wheels. I'd expect anything imported to be properly cleaned for quarantine purposes too.

I personally wouldn't buy a rim that I couldn't see in the metal beforehand (excluding brand new), and I think that Nisskid was generally referring to rims that were being sold by traders of repute - if you're gonna be buying them through Yahoo Auctions JP, then its like any other online auction; caveat emptor.

Well fellas By a stroke of fate I've been offered a set of new Enkei RP03 17" x 8"s 5x114.3 +35 offset for $297.00 a corner fitted and balanced by a dealer which I am gleefully going ahead with , the only problem is according to information obtained from googling Enkei here http://www.enkei.com/rp03.html they dont make this wheel in this sizing hummmm--any comments anyone ??

ask to see them first, they will have all the info u need on the rims themselves. often sizes change, sometimes what's being manufactured and what's sitting in a warehouse somewhere in Aus can be different if one size has been discontinued etc

sometimes whats on the site simply doesnt correspond to what's actually available.

as long as they are definitely enkei's and the model u want, and they are stamped with the offset/size u are after then they should be fine.

incorrect, because i never claimed to hate cheap shit!

i bought my onevia for $200 and sold it for $6000 haha

i hate cheap quality shit, nothing to do with the price. i pay f**k all for my good quality wheels, less than what some low quality stuff sells for, even 2nd hand.

rpf1's (17x10) are $1115au from the US brand new plus delivery which wouldnt be anymore than 200 bucks, and they are light and a good brand. These are way cheaper from the US brand new than second hand in japan on yahoo auctions so dont waste your time looking in japan.

    • Sadly I can confirm if you are actually seeking to drift, you will quite easily spin up one wheel. Even if you're going in a straight line. I am not entirely sure of the metrics/terminology here but there's only a certain amount that the helical will actually spin both wheels. I've seen it on video with my own car where two lines of smoke switch over to just one after you really get in to it. Unlike with a clutch diff where you can keep your foot planted until the car regains grip, in my experience with the helical you want to be utilizing traction control allowing LIMITED slip or lifting (partially) when you start to spin up both tyres with a Nissan helical. Which makes them pretty sub optimal for drifting duty. That said... this is probably a helical on numbers alone. Just put the Kazz in
    • Let's just fix the problem by f**king the rest of the gearbox.
    • Unlikely, as per Greg's post. This is not helical diff behaviour unless one wheel is up off the ground. Shimming what? You don't "shim" a mechanical LSD. Probably not in the sense that you have heard of people "shimming" a diff. And the process that Nissan f**kwits call "shimming" a diff involves super-preloading a VLSD cartridge against the side of the diff to create a friction/wear point (in a place that it wasn't supposed to have one) to make the sloppy, useless, viscous diff into a hybrid viscous/mech abortion. In case it isn't clear, I consider the process to be stupid. Nike.
