Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows how to clean the car windows really good, especially the front windshield so the wipers will be smoother. Like i know you can use a clay bar on the car is there something similar you can use for your windows to remove all the tiny dirt and stuff :D

Cheers,

Aleks

i've heard that you can polish glass with a water based polish, but haven't tested it, or know anyone personally who has. i don't know if this would achieve what you're chasing either. if your wipers are sticking to your windows when they're wiping, try changing from a rubber wiper to a silicone wiper or vice versa would probably your first (and cheapest) option. you could also try putting a small amount of detergent in your wiper reservoir (i generally put in about 4 drops of car washing detergent).

Oh maybe at the same time someone can tell me if there's a way of making the water coming out from the thingy (dont know whats it called) spray instead of shooting a jet fo water.

you'd have to replace the nozzle. maybe try ebay for a quick fix?

I use metho and newspaper for a rag, I was told it's the best for the outside glass becuse it doesnt leave a film that can attract dust and dirt.

I also worked at a glass screen printing factory and thats how we cleaned the real dirty glass for printing.

Isoprophyl Alcohol diluted 2:1 with water. You can clay glass aswell. Follow up with a polish after that as clay bar will leave microscratches. check out www.finalinspection.com the detailing forum is pretty good there and they should be able to answer the question a bit better.

Cheers guys,

I'll give the metho and newspaper a go, because i've heard good things about that from other people, plus i have both of those at home , where can i get some silicone wipers and any brand you can recommend, i need the hook connector and i don't want the refills i cant be stuffed just the whole blade lol

I just use Windex and paper towel to clean, if there is any sap or resin on there I give it a go first with Orange Power. I use a turtle wax additive in the reservoir and have perfect window cleaning action :)

there is a window polish available that car detailers and Euro car dealers use .. its 20 bucks a small pot and does 40 car windows you onlt do it once a year.. smooths your class , gets rid of blemishes , and prevents fogging

Bear in mnd if you have cracks or chips in ur windscreen dont use polish as it hardens up inside the cracks causing it to expand gradually..

repco / autobarn / superchea has heaps of wiper blade sets.. i got some for the 33 last week - cost me like 15 bucks.. there are more expensive ones like 30-40 bucks but yeah the cheap ones last at least 12 months..takes 2 mins to fit..

Heard thats a good way to clean your face too :P

you do realize metho does have a oil additive and most likely will leave a minute residue.

you could try using a pin to align the ball in the nozzle to get the angle of the jet better so it sprays over a larger area

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365.
